Jags starter rips tebow! Says no to drafting him.

Growing up in fla, I'm a big gators fan but honestly as much as I like tim, this guy has a solid point. I really don't see tebow being a starting qb in the NFL... Discuss! Jaguars lineman unloads on Tebow | ProFootballTalk.com

I still think Tebow has value as a potential h-back/TE type player with maybe a little wildcat peppered in, but anyone who thinks he's gonna be a legit starting QB is fooling themselves... for the reason stated, he doesn't have an arm.

he'll get a chance at QB and if you don't think he will...you don't know much at football. The kid is at least deserving of a chance to prove himself at the next level...some club will take a chance and it will be in the first round. book it.

You have got to be kidding me! There is no way Tebow goes in the 1st round. For the reasons stated before. He's a 3rd rounder @ best. Wouldn't it be hilarious if the great Tim Tebow was "Mr. Irrelevant"? lmao

I agree there's a good shot he'll go in the first round. But there's a big difference between "getting a chance" and actually developing into a legit player.

He has a quality about him that will enable him to be successful even if it's at a position other than QB. He's blessed with that burning desire to succeed, it's the intangibles along with the belief he has in himself that will prove to be his greatest asset.

I think I'm almost rooting for Tebow now. The amount of venom directed his way lately has become a little disturbing. Let's give the kid a chance before he's completely written off.

This Jags player should've kept those comments behind closed doors, while accurate, making those comments publicly is very unprofessional.

I think a lot of the venom is because Tebow's been put on a pedestal and praised by the sports media for 4 years as "the greatest college player ever". The higher the perch, the harder the fall.

The guy did a great job at UF. But stepping up to the next level is a reality check:
- He won't be playing on a team that simply outclasses it's opponent 85%+ of the time.
- He won't be running over 215-220lb LBs, that may not be even as fast as he is. The first run he attempted in the Senior Bowl is what he'll be seeing every time he tries to run.
- His long release has already been exposed. I don't see that getting fixed.
- His arm strength is sub-par.
- His accuracy is sub-par.

He will go down on the long list of successful college QBs who didn't make the transition to the NFL. Someone will give him a shot though. As others have said, I certainly hope it isn't here.

Venom? All I ever hear and see is the media over hyping this guy like I've never seen anyone in college football. I literally could not listen to the announcers do a Fla. game. It got ridiculous. Chis Leak was a MUCH better passer than Tebow and what ever happened to him? Tebow should just give up the QB dream and learn a new position asap. He'd make a nice H-back or a full time teams player.

I don't know.. there are enough people guaranteeing that Clausen and Bradford are sure busts, at least it's a little more evident in the possibility for Tebow. I mean I won't be upset if he pans out, but I just don't see it.

And for the people saying he just has the desire.. that's true, but he can't be hopping around screaming on the NFL field after every 1st down like he did down in Florida, and there are a lot of guys out there that bust their ass that just don't make it. I could see him making it at some position, but who knows.

Tebow seems like a solid guy with great character who definately deserves a shot to prove himself...just not in a Redskins uniform.

If the Jags do draft Tebow now, there could be some awkward locker room moments. Imagine the first time that Nwaneri and Tebow talk.
