Scud's Studs (Week 12 @ Seattle)

Well, it took until week 12 to get our 4th win. Yikes. But a win it was, and it snapped our longest losing streak in 13 years. Let's hand out some Scud stickers, shall we?

D'Angelo Hall: after arguably his worst game as a Redskin last week, he turned in easily his best game of the season. 6 passes defensed and the game sealing pick. He was all over the place, and really stepped up. I'm still not a fan of his, but the way he responded to last week's adversity was admirable.

Perry Riley: Led the team in tackles (14 I think). We've got a good young stud LB in Riley. Love his play, and I think he'll be a good one for us for a while.

Roy Helu: Wow! I think this guy will be our feature back moving forward. He certainly should be. Led the team in receptions today (7), and turned in 100+ rushing, including a spectacular 28 yard hurdle/touchdown scamper.

Anthony Armstrong: I know he only had one catch, but what a catch it was. A beautiful grab despite pass interference on a 50 yard bomb to give the Skins the lead for good.

Kyle Shanahan: For his commitment to using Roy Helu, who's clearly our best RB right now. It paid off. Finally. We haven't had a good game running the ball in forever. 29 carries today. We still had less than 4 yards per rush, but it kept the secondary honest and was a big part of our offense being able to throw for 300+.

Absolutely shouldn't of been starting. Gotta give him props for playing injured and giving us an edge.

Lesser of two evils. Starting Charlie Whitehurst would have given us an edge, too.

If there's a team with a QB situation as bad as the Redskins, it's Seattle.

Starting Whitehurst would have been a bigger edge for us than starting Tavaris.

I think Rex is better than Tavaris. I think Beck is better than Whitehurst. Whitehurst was garbage in the one game he played. Like super stinky nasty gross garbage.

we've all seen whitehurst play well, throw the ball beyond 20 yards and win a game. beck ****ing sucks and couldnt hold a candle to whitehurst.

And hyped a million times less than Romo's injury in the media. Although it got a bit old for a while during the game when the announcers kept talking about it over and over again.

Helu was impressive and showed he can carry the load. Ride him the rest of the year.

I've gotta give some props to Rexy, that "F it I'm going deep" 50 yard bomb was clutch.

I agree about Rex. He just keeps bouncing back no matter what happens.

Re: Scud's Studs (Week 12 @ Seattle)

Danny Smith - getting his unit to nail that 25 yarder at the end. (Sarc.)

Riley - got our new starting MLB. Bye bye Rocky.

Gaffney - had another solid receiving game.

Moss - I just feel like our offense is better w/ him playing.

Helu - Ok, Mike enough w/ starting anybody else. Good job picking this guy, now lets let him run.

Defense as a whole - just hanging in there playing tough again. Nice job getting some sacks at crucial times. Liking our defense with a few tweaks this off season.

Are you telling me that Danny Smith hit a 25 yard FG with his unit? That's amazing!

It was definitely nice to see this team run the ball consistently today. See what happens when you commit to the run game? And seattle's run d is pretty good, those were hard earned yards today.

Thank you!

I agree with Scud's choices. I also thought that Josh Wilson did not have too bad of a game as long as you throw out that absolutely terrible pass interference call.

And his Carlos Rogers impersonation by dropping the easy pick. Is it in the water in Ashburn that CB develop brick hands?
