Really tough loss. Cannot have 3 turnovers and expect to win. That last fumble by JD5 really hurt. He has already owned up to it. Need to put this behind us quickly and focus on Dallas Sunday. Will be tough but no other choice then to immediately forget about last night, learn, and move on.

Hate to say it (again), but I witnessed DQ coach in ATL with very similar traits and mistakes and I was not on board with him coming to the Redskins but hoped he’d do a better job here. The jury is still out but I’m concerned he may not be the answer.

While yes the turnovers essentially was the reason for the loss, I have a really hard time with the defense having too many guys running free in the secondary and missed tackles.

I said it then say it now ..Mike Vrabel was my pick at coach( I heard all the reasons why he wouldn't work) Quinn is a likable guy but the team is unprepared at the start of these games ..we shall see

This is my take away from the game. The 3 turnovers cost us the game, and were avoidable as any turnover is. But they happen. One caveat; I agree with the sentiment that 3rd & 1 in that situation, you go under centre and pound the ball, not shotgun/pistol and run read option. The lack of early ground and pound makes me think KK out coached himself, thinking they would be run heavy on D with Scary out (which they were but we still moved the ball). But it's how you respond to a turnover, and all things considered, the O did well.

But the D haemorrhaging runs worries me, and more so the inconsistency. I'm not even sure its the players. Watching how we set up on some of those gashing run plays, it seemed that we totally discounted the Bears ability to run outside. We had a play where Sainristil was trying to set the edge with an OL in his face. A CB against a lineman to set the edge? WTF? I'm not convinced Whitt knows what he's doing calling plays. I can't help thinking DQ may have to step in soon and if that happens. it's not going to be a pretty outlook the rest of the way (I don't agree with the HC calling plays unless he's a proven genius like BB or Andy Reid).

I'm becoming convinced Whitt is the problem and we may have no choice but to replace him soon.

Turnovers are always the great equalizer

Brutal loss. Perhaps it was the football gods giving one back to the Bears.

DQ will not be the coach who will take us to a championship. He will take us to a certain point but we will need someone else.

Our slow starts are on him.

Pretty poor overall. Especially when you consider the refs were giving the Commanders the KC Chiefs treatment and they couldn't take advantage of it.

One thing I really dislike is JD is always in shotgun. Get under center some more and have a real play action game. Doing play action out of shotgun fools no one. Too much shotgun limits the physicality of the offense. I hate it. Just take a few pages out of Kyle's playbook.

Ridiculously underwhelmed by Kliff 80% of the time. The constant shotgun also drives me nuts. This offense needs to mix things up and Kliff needs to get his head in the game.

I cant even start to talk about defense right now.

No NFL team should essentially eliminate plays from its playbook. And by never lining up under center, we do just that. Just purposely cut a whole list of plays that work way better from under center than they do from shotgun.

Re: Game Day #6: Conquer the Night or Be Conquered

3-3 after 6 weeks, 11 games to go:

Week 7: @Boys
Week 8: @Chiefs
Week 9: Seahawks
Week 10: Lions

Week 11: @Dolphins
Week 12: Bye
Week 13: Broncos
Week 14: @Vikings

Week 15: @Giants
Week 16: Eagles
Week 17: Boys
Week 18: @Eagles

Here's how I now think we finish. The Bears game sends us into a tailspin where we fall from 3-3 to 3-7, as we go on a 5 game losing streak.

That losing stops with the Dolphins and we then win that game and the next 2 to go from 3-7 to 6-7.

6-7 going into our 4 game division run; see us going 3-1 or 2-2. To go 3-1, we would only lose @Eagles and finish 9-8. Possibly earning a playoff spot. To go 2-2, we would lose both road games: @ Giants, @Eagles and finish 8-9 and earn a likely Top 15 pick.

That's just what I feel. We aren't that good.
