Re: Haynesworth says that we don't "want it"
To those who question Haynesworth stamina and say he's "always" out of breath and on the bench, note these stats regarding playing time of various players vs. the eagles:
Playing time vs. Eagles (corrected) - Redskins 360 - Washington Times Quote:
-By comparison, Cornelius Griffen was only on the field for 30 snaps (51.7%) -The only Defensive lineman on the field more than Haynesworth was Andre Carter. -Haynesworth weighs 350lbs, Griffin weighs 303, andCarter weighs 253. Now, I don't know Big Albert's average % of defensive snaps played over the course of the year, but its most certainly more than he ever played in Tennessee. As big and heavy as he is, its truly impressive - and a testament to his "heart," - that he is playing as many snaps as he is. Haynesworth definitely "wants it." Now, our organization has other problems besides its players' attitudes, but i can't help thinking that if the other 53 players on the roster "wanted it" as bad as Haynesworth, we wouldnt be 2-5 right now.

Wow, that's a LOT of hate for the best receiver we've had since the Monk/Clark days.

Re: Haynesworth says that we don't "want it"
So how long would it take for your newly acquired receivers to accumulate a 1,500 yard season, or make multiple pro-bowls? You can't replace talent of that caliber and expect the same level of production. If Moss were to go to any team in our division he would return to being the superstar he always was. Cooley is the best TE in NFL IMO so he wouldn't go anywhere. If those two were old, and at the end of their careers I'd agree. But both of them still have a lot of Football in them. And we can use all the playmakers we can attain. We just need someone who can "give them the damn ball".

Re: Haynesworth says that we don't "want it"
We should keep Moss, only reason he is not producing is because the offensive line is so bad. If the OL was even average or a little better than average then JC would be a good qb. Right now JC is an average to little below average qb.
Its simple math, your offensive ability will be bounded by the strength of your weakest component. Putting a stellar qb at the helm won't make much difference unless you fix the weakest link in the chain. Don't trade Moss or Portis but do draft a Running back who will have to take over in 1-2 years. Trade Cooley and get a 2nd round or 1st and 3rd round pick for him. Combined with the other 1st round pick, these should be routed into at least 2 offensive line picks, preferably tackles/center. As for QB, I honestly think someone we should think about giving a chance is Brady Quinn. We'll get him for cheap, he's young but he has had some starts. Coming from Cleveland to Washington he will only get better and he still has a lot of upside.
