Re: Offensive Line
Initially, I wanted to spend both the first and second round picks on offensive lineman. But now I'm thinking that we should use the top ten pick on an OT, and wait until the fourth or fifth round to add a guard or center prospect.
If we end up picking in the top three, we should consider a quarterback, but we also shouldn't Alex Smith it, and take the highest available quarterback without considering anything else.

Re: Offensive Line
I miss Jansen!
Not saying I disagreed w/him being cut at the time, but his leadership is missed & he would be an upgrade over some of the guys here now. (on a side note, the Jansen cut might be viewed by DS as one more strike against zorn) |

Re: Offensive Line
At this point I would spend both the first and second round on LT and RT. Give the O-line a huge boost third is tied up with Jarmin. Then I might start looking at QB or RB's to take over for our aged RB's. I would look for a viable SLB and return Orakpo to DE. Look to pick up CB's and a Safety in the later rounds. Make it well know that if your an OL we are holding open season. try them all out. pick the best and get younger and healthier faster.
Whoever comes in at GM and HC I would tell find the best WR position coach out there and bring him in to teach the WR's we have how the hell to play in the NFL. I might even spend on 1 WR FA if they are not too old and still have some gas left in them. I'd dump ARE and think long and hard about Moss. Out of my list above maybe pick up Crummy, Asiata, and Canfield to replace R. Johnson is injured yet again. Weren't they thinking about cutting him last off season? Something about not using good technique? |

I would add trying to trade someone for picks. (Moss, Portis, or Landry).

Re: Offensive Line
As much as I would wish that we would build a team around a stong OLine, I just don't see that happening with current FO. Basic football logic is to control the line of scrimmage and the rest will follow, right?.
However, with DS being the marketing "genius" and VC as his side-kick just how many lineman jerseys do they have to sell to make up for one "Romo". My point being that profits seem to be more important than winning. But then again I'm just a die-hard fan that will now only buy my beloved Redskin goods from yard sales and used clothing stores.

Re: Offensive Line
By R. Johnson, do you mean Randy Thomas? Otherwise I like your assessment.
I would add trying to trade someone for picks. (Moss, Portis, or Landry).
Also, about the only person in your list worth anything is Landry. Portis has been injured every yr recently, and he's not producing the yrds he used to. Moss is in the same boat. He seems to get injured every year some how and this year although healthy he can't get seperation often enough and seems to drop the ball, that is if JC is not over throwing him. I could see whoever comes in picking up a franchise QB in the first round and picking up a LT in the second round. We might get lucky in FA and pick up some RT who is not too old and gets the job done. |

1. Tackle - We just lost our franchise tackle (very likely for good) and we haven't picked up an offensive lineman in the first round in a long time. 2. QB/RB - While QB is definitely a need, Portis is old in RB years and has nothing left in the tank. We need to find our next Ray Rice, Tashard Choice, or LeSean McCoy. 3. LB - We need someone at LB so Orakpo can become a full time DE. 4. Guard/Center - We need depth.

Re: Offensive Line
You know, after reading remarks from Bowen and seeing results from Orakpo recently, I think that he can play OLB.

Re: Offensive Line
Is there anyone who could tell me about Levi Jones. He is our new LT. He said he played hurt all last year. Was he good prior to that and what was done to repair what ever was hindering him.

Kyle Turley or D'Brickashaw Ferguson. But he hasn't been able to stay on the field in three years, and I wouldn't bet on him staying healthy for 8 straight weeks.

If healthy I think he instantly becomes the best lineman on the roster, but like you said it's pretty dicey.
