Then on Super Bowl Sunday, my wife drew the short straw on her job and had to work. I always picked her up at work on the days she was alone and had to close. I left the house during halftime and missed most of the 3rd quarter, so even that game is somewhat hazy in my memory. 1991 was a forgettable season for me; I prefer to recall seasons when things went a little better for me and the family. I guess it does show how the Redskins become part of your life in good times and bad. Ultimately, I had some health problems of my own in early 2004. I vividly remember a very good friend coming to visit me in the hospital and leaning over my bed and saying, "Gibbs is coming back!" I am sure that accelerated my recovery! Good and bad, thick and thin, more thin than thick lately, but always "Hail to the Redskins!" |

Great story! Im guessing your heart was in good shape cause im sure most of us almost had a heart attack hearing Gibbs was coming back. It came straight out of left field for me I had given up hope of that ever happening. I had a Cowboy fan come in my office and tell me, i called him a flat out liar. lol
