I just feel like for the past decade, players could kind of do what they want. Phillip Daniels alluded to it in the off season when he said if people were working harder, they probably would have won a few more games.
This kind of attitude is necessary for right now; the players have been able to do whatever they want. What was Zorn going to do to Portis? Nothing.
Now, this means that every position has competition and that you need to show up and do things or you aren't going to get playing time. I think this begins to build that work ethic that is important to win close games. I believe this with McNabb's work ethic will really change the culture.
