I've seen those teams you are talking about, "tough from the first minute of the first game to the last minute of the last one," and unfortunately they have been gone for a long time. There can't be too many professional franchises that has made it tougher on their fans, than this one for the last ~30 years.

I agree there's work to be done. There always is, and if the organization isn't constantly working long hard hours trying to improve every aspect of the team, then they are destined to fail. It appears, at least on the surface, that this is exactly what they are doing.

But RR and his "cronies" have their work cut out for them this offseason. Last year, despite all RR went through and the Alex Smith story, was as close to a "gimme" as you can get. If this team hadn't successfully drafted a D-lineman in the first round over the past four years the results would likely have been much different. However, the results were the results, and I am excited about them.

Confidence is one thing. This new front office & coaching staff has to earn my confidence. Benefit of the doubt is another thing though. I refuse to look at every success this team manages to achieve with pessimism. I am inspired, even excited, that they were the team to ultimately win the division, rather than finish 2-4. It's something to build on. There's plenty of talent on this team, young talent, and I believe there's more on the way. Hopefully that starts with a QB that can help this team take another step forward.

There have been many reasons to not root for this team over the years, plenty of reasons to not even become a fan of this team for many years going now. This offseason seems like an odd time to make that decision - as a fan.
I'm gonna try and make it short, I agree last year is something to build on. But last year won't mean squat if RR and co. don't make the right moves this offseason. Bring in the wrong qb and there won't be any progress from last year.

Alls I'm saying is I see where jamf is coming from. In every one of those years that I witnessed, 05, 07, 12, 15, and 20, the following year were all failures. The difference between me and jamf is I choose to trust RR because his choices so far have not proven to be failures. But his choices for the staff/FO aren't exactly cream of the crop either. Results: TBD. We'll see what happens. Nothing comes easy in this league. I just think jamf is being a little premature in giving up on this staff, but only time will tell. If he's right we're all wrong. I hope that's not the case but history has repeated itself the last 5 times we went on an end-of-season run.

Well, that's basically what I'm saying as well. They have to make the right moves to continue to have success, starting with the QB position. I don't have a problem with any of the moves so far. Time will tell if they are the right ones, or if history will repeat itself yet again.

BTW I wasn't saying you were shitting on him, my words were directed towards those implying he should quit being a fan just because he doesn't like the moves Ron is making. If that was the case at some point we should all quit being fans because we've all been there at some point.

I’m sorry....I’m trying to find a nice way to say this but there really isn’t one. But when you say you’re going to quit being a fan because you don’t like the move of who is the second in command of college scouting....you’re a drama queen. Sorry. That’s just a fact. Fans seem to forget that Ron and everyone he’s hired has forgotten more real football than any of us will ever know. I get the caution and the frustration....I’ve been a fan since 1970...so I get the wait and see attitude....but this whole “I’m out if they sign this guy or let this guy go or draft this guy at 19 instead of the guy I have in my mock draft” stuff is a little hard to take. Hope this doesn’t offend, just trying to explain where the “go somewhere else” posts come from.
