He’s a stud QB2. Definitely have to keep him around regardless

The question is can he learn over this season. Still only 10 starts, and he definitely has grown in certain aspects. I hope he gets the timing and anticipation better. I know we saw some bone head throws though.

Yeah he’s still inaccurate on throws downfield but overall his ability to keep plays alive is awesome. If he can limit the TOs, our schedule isn’t as strong the next 8 games, anything can happen

Some final Taylor Heinicke stats vs. the Bucs via
@NextGenStats

* 8-of-8 for 81 yards and a TD against the blitz.
* Season-high 9.6% completed passes over expectation (CPOE)
* Though he threw mostly underneath, he went 6 of 8 for 110 yards and a TD on throws of 10+ air yards.
very impressive stuff against the blitz.

I really hate to be overly critical because he did have a great game, but I still do cringe almost every time he throws that ball. It's such a floater. I would just as soon not see him throw another out pattern, because it's only a matter of time before it is a pick-6. Honestly, I feel he is more lucky than good, but I hope the luck continues.

His arm is def an issue, Sometimes I have no idea how he hits on those deep balls. He is very good at the short / mid throws tho.. Like the slant to Gibson and Terry and the fade to DC

Budlighticke was miked up against the Bucs last week. Some good footage in there. I enjoyed the use of the dolphin to bleep the curse words - sounds better than just silencing the audio.

141.3 passer rating against the #2 D.

That is crazy.

He played 1 hell of a football game. Played well last week too.

Can he pull out a MNF win next?

Dude will never be perfect, never have the skill set of the greats, always miss some easy throws, but when the game is on the line he gets er done.

Lets remind ourselves that he still hasn’t started a full season.

I think that is why the Gibson 3rd down run ticked me off. On 3rd with 2 min to go tell TH you got this and let him have a shot.

He's a romo 2.0, both smaller guys that can move around and make plays in clutch situations.. Romo had the better accuracy but Taylor is the better runner. He's at least showing us that we don't have to reach at QB in the draft

Re: Taylor Effing Heinicke

At this point Heineke had shown he is a better prospect than any QB that will be in the 2022 draft. It's a weak class and none of the 2022 prospects would normally go in the 1st round and now it is apparent the Redskins don't need to reach for one.
