Re: Jason Campbell: when will the switch be made?
I don't blame Brunell as much as some of you. He's looking good with the plays being called for him. He completes most of his passes and I saw him scramble out of trouble a LOT of times yesterday. His downfield passes to Cooley looked great too.
He's performing well for the plays being called. I have no clue why the coaching staff is sticking with the dumpoff passes and screens. I have no idea why we kicked a FG when down by 3 scores. It's not Brunell's fault though. He has proven that when he has to do deep for Moss or Lloyd, he can do it sucessfully...but those plays AREN'T being called! More evidence of bad playcalling...we faced the WORST run defense in the NFL and didn't run. That was our key to winning this game. Portis and Betts looked great when they ran the ball...but they didn't run enough! C'mon...12 rushes from CP, 10 from Betts...2 nice ones from Randel El (one would've been a great play if not for Jansen jumping offsides). I guess Gibbs never saw the stat about how unbeatable we are when we run 30+ times in a game. Also, it was the defense's 3rd-quarter nap that lost the game for us. Maybe Indy was fired up about Manning almost being taken out of the game...but Peyton embarrassed us. But, with our patched-together emergency secondary...that was bound to happen. |
