I definately think that guys can revive their careers with a change of scenery and experience. I just don't see Harrington as one of those guys. I've followed him long enough (I live in NFC North country) to say with a high degree of certainty that the guy is unlikely to be a success story in the NFL.

I think this season will show me. It's hard for me to make an accurate assessment of him when he played being a piss poor line and had a poor running game. Now he has a system that is at worst average.

I'm thinking Harrington does well in ATL. While I'm not normally on the "His teams have all sucked", bandwagon. I think Detroit really sucked, and Miami was no dynasty.

I'm curious as to what Miami thought of him, I've been recently conversing a little on one of the Miami boards and I'll report back with some of there thoughts.

But if you recall, Miami was not his team, it was Culpepper's, and Harrington was always in danger of losing the job. Now the Falcons are his team, there is no one behind him worthy of replacing him either. He might be more relaxed now than he ever was, even though he is replacing a perceived qb god in Vick.

Meh...if your going to succeed in the NFL, you've got to deal with pressures all around you. If you cant because your afraid you'll do bad... well duh that's the NFL. I don't think that coming in as known starter has many benefits, except for the fact that he's getting all the reps in practice.

I guess he'll be more confident, but I think it more has to do with what his teammates think of him. In this case, I think you may have a point there.

Just an FYI, Yahoo has predicted him to get around 3500 yards and 24 tds with around 17 ints.
To me, that makes him a very good sleeper, and I am not sure he will do that well.

If Harrington throws for 3,500 yards and 24tds, I will be nothing short of amazed. Only 8 QBs threw for more than 3,500 yards last season, and those QBs are: Drew Brees, Peyton Manning, Marc Bulger, Jon Kitna, Carson Palmer, Brett Favre, Tom Brady, and Ben Roethlisberger. Only Peyton Manning, Carson Palmer, and Drew Brees threw for more than 24 TDs and 3,500 yards.

I cannot see Joey Harrington have as good of a season as Peyton Manning, Carson Palmer, and Drew Brees had last year, particularly in Atlanta's run-first offense. They've got some good RBs in Warrick Dunn and Jerious Norwood and, aside from aging Joe Horn, no solid wideouts. Finally, their O-line is still suspect. Wayne Gandy was getting abused at LT by Justin Smith.

Assuming Harrington isn't injured or benched, I see him throwing for 2,900 yards, 17 TDs, and 16 INTs.

I would be cautious about the Falcon's offensive prospects. Remember Steve Spurrier's first pre-season? Shane Matthews, Danny Wuerfel, and Sage Rosenfels all put up huge numbers. Likewise Bobby petrino looks like a genius now, but when the regular season comes, the NFL defensive gurus generally even things up.
