I believe most NFL power rankings use a formula that factors in many things. Points allowed/surrendered, yards, turnover differential, wheather or not a team was home or away, strength of schedule, etc... Much like the GWP thread, these rankings are a good gague, but can not be totally indicative of a teams actual "strength".
