No disrespect intended, I concur with the Giants statement, but how can you justify your statement that the Skins "are starting to show more life and the ability to win games" when they have lost 2 of thier last 3 games? Not to mention they were leading at halftime in those 2 losses.

you have a point but let me explain. the skins defense has been outstanding especially the last few games. our offense looked terrible last week againsed green bay but dont expect santana moss to ever have a game like that again. a very bad game, but yes the skins are improving.

I think what tends to happen is we all think our team is better than what they really are. If we were a really good team (this includes coaching too) we don't blow a 14 point lead at home to the NYG. Good teams simply don't do that. Good teams don't drop passes that kill drives. Good teams don't struggle with a bad Miami team at home. Good teams don't constantly fumble. Good teams don't burn timeouts in the 2nd half of games to think about what play to run on 4th down.

Honestly, right now, we are just an average football team. I know people don't want to hear it but it's the truth and sometimes the truth hurts. With that being said if we can cut out the stupid mistakes then we can be a good team and maybe even a playoff team.

Good teams do lose games to lesser opponents on occassion, I think people tend to forget that at times.

Other than the fumble return for a TD and that big pass play to Lee, the Packers did absolutely nothing all day.

As for the Giants I think we're starting to see that their 0-2 start was more of a fluke than anything.

The Skins beat themselves last week. I simply don't buy that Green Bay is a better team.

But we are still VERY good at throwing the football. Drops happen in a game of football. Sometimes it happens more than others. Sometimes, the timing of plays are disrupted consistently by one player (in this case, Kampman) and it throws off the entire rhythm of the offense.

Few teams have LEs as good as Kampman and it was clear that neither Wade nor Heyer could handle him on that day.

How many teams are we going to play this year that will break down our pass pro the way Kampman did? Speed rushers have done crap against us this year. They try to go around Samuels and he makes them look foolish. They get out of their lanes, and Campbell escapes.

We don't play Tennessee, we don't play Kansas City, we don't play Pittsburgh. Do you think NE is going to get a bunch of pressure against us? I doubt it. Campbell has to make it his job to not leave the pocket just because it helped against GB. Makes the throw longer and disrupts the timing of the routes.

Moss will rebound if he's healthy, no doubt about it.

In addition, I think I team can beat itself without acutally playing bad.

In a game in which not a lot of points are scored, a few fluky plays can decide a game. That's why I am generally a proponent of big passing offense. I don't like to leave the outcome of a game to chance.

Although the passing offense is the strength of our team, we are still a pretty balanced offense. We just don't generate big plays in the running game.

In this case, two plays were enough to do us in, when all the other actions that occured in that game would have resulted in a Redskin win. Did we get any fluky plays to fall our way? Well some calls in the end zone on that Green Bay drive went for us, but nothing like the unfortuante inability to not ever recover a fumble.

Not only is this stuff correctable, but it doesn't really even need to be corrected. We just need to keep playing like we have been and good things will happen. Holding on to the ball doesn't hurt though.

As a Skins fan, I don't think Green Bay is a better team either. But they are two games in front of us, and are 3-0 against our division. Like it or not, right now they are better.

Tripp, I believe you're onto something there. With Gibbs's conservative approach, there is very little margin for error. Only occasionally do we score more than 2 TDs in a game anymore, so giving one up on offense or special teams is usually a killer.

Pretty much. And that's what makes them scary. If the locker room doesn't become a headline every week, the Giants could be hard to beat when they just play football.

agree with matty here...we lose to green bay, but we are the better team...got unlucky with drops (both Offensively and defensively)...the D looks good. we will start winning again...starting sunday.
