D'Angelo Hall: after arguably his worst game as a Redskin last week, he turned in easily his best game of the season. 6 passes defensed and the game sealing pick. He was all over the place, and really stepped up. I'm still not a fan of his, but the way he responded to last week's adversity was admirable.

Perry Riley: Led the team in tackles (14 I think). We've got a good young stud LB in Riley. Love his play, and I think he'll be a good one for us for a while.

Roy Helu: Wow! I think this guy will be our feature back moving forward. He certainly should be. Led the team in receptions today (7), and turned in 100+ rushing, including a spectacular 28 yard hurdle/touchdown scamper.

Anthony Armstrong: I know he only had one catch, but what a catch it was. A beautiful grab despite pass interference on a 50 yard bomb to give the Skins the lead for good.

Kyle Shanahan: For his commitment to using Roy Helu, who's clearly our best RB right now. It paid off. Finally. We haven't had a good game running the ball in forever. 29 carries today. We still had less than 4 yards per rush, but it kept the secondary honest and was a big part of our offense being able to throw for 300+.

Good list and my list would have looked like that as well. I would have put Gaffney there instead of Armstrong though.

Re: Scud's Studs (Week 12 @ Seattle)

It seems that crediting Kyle's gameplan for the success enjoyed by Grossman and Helu today is kind of like crediting someone for getting a multiple choice question right on the fourth try after already double guessing a wrong answer. Giving Helu the ball wasn't exactly rocket science. 31 other offensive coordinators would have figured it out quicker.

But at the end of a hard-fought win, offensive production is always better than a lack of it.

Yeah it didn't exactly come across in my OP, but me putting Kyle on the list had some sarcasm behind it. I'm glad he finally woke up, but gosh it took long enough.

This felt so good for once. I don't care about the draft pick and all that, it was just awesome to win.

Re: Scud's Studs (Week 12 @ Seattle)

I'd much rather have third place in a lost season than a shot to pick in the top 3.

That's not to say a high pick is valueless, it's just not valuable enough to justify having a historically long losing streak for.

Armstrong for having by far the best Dougie end zone dance in the league again this year.

Re: Scud's Studs (Week 12 @ Seattle)

One more Stud that no one mentioned yet.

Trent Williams: heres why: Williams could have easily taken a couple weeks off after the injury suffered against Dallas -- and I believe if this was his rookie season, he would have -- but this is a totally differerent offensive line with big #71 on it. And so with absolutely nothing on the line, Trent plays on a cold, wet rainy day in Seattle. And for the first time this year, the Redskins erase a 10 point deficit to win.

That's where my game ball goes.

Re: Scud's Studs (Week 12 @ Seattle)

Helu continues to impress me unlike any other Redskin I've seen in a long time in his postgame comments.

Just watch the first 30 seconds here. How many players do you know of after a day like he had start a press conference by individually naming each of the starting offensive linemen? Not just a generic "the offensive line blocked great" but actually naming all the linemen

Roy Helu: 11-27

Yes Helu is impressive, why does it take the frickin coaches so long to realize something? If Helu played this much last week we might have won that game too.
Is there no smoot smackdown this week since we won?
This has got nothing to do with the players in game, but I had to give a smackdown to the radio broadcast.Ive read a lot of complaints about it but I heard it for the first time on satellite radio yesterday.OH MY GAWD! How is Huff still employed? That guy is so bad its way beyond funny.Him and Jurgenson bickering with eath other sounded like 2 drunk fools in a bar.I feel for the people that listen to that every week

I've harped on this at least a few times a season for the past few years. It is a total embarrassment to the Redskins to have that broadcasting team, particularly Sam Huff. It's an out and out joke.

I missed the first few possessions of the game yesterday because I was out running, but I was listening on the ESPN radio app. I heard the pre-game, and then the opening possession when we scored. In that short time, the following happened:

-When the fireworks went off pre-game, Huff started going crazy, complaining about the smoke and saying someone should be fined for setting off fireworks.... Then Sonny and Larry reminded him that they do the same thing at every Skins home game. Sam shut up.

-On the opening kickoff, Huff complained that the Redskins aren't setting the wedge, and that's why Banks hasn't had a big KO return. Sonny reminded him that the wedge is now against the rules for returns. To which Sam said something to the effect of "well that's a stupid rule."

-On Fred Davis' first catch, Larry said, "Davis makes the grab!" Sam said, "who??" and Sonny said, "Fred Davis, Sam. The starting TE." Sam just said, "oh."

-He also had no idea who Evan Royster is.

Sam Huff must have compromising pictures of his boss or something, because if I was in charge, he'd be pulled off the air immediately.
