Re: Cowpukes postgame finger pointing thread
I personally do not like to watch Thursday Night Football. The quality of the product the NFL outs on the field on Thursday night is just awful. Players bodies do not recover enough from the pounding the previous Sunday. The road team has a travel day, and there is not enough time to prepare. And it shows in every TNF game. Have not seen one yet I would call 'a classic'. But there are 32 teams in the league and all 32 have to play a Thursday game. Some, like Dallas, have to play two Thursday games in a season.

Re: Cowpukes postgame finger pointing thread
I just cannot get over the difference in our offense inside and outside the RZ. I am more comfortable at 3-16 around midfield than at 1st and goal at the goal line.
No team has ever put up those kind of numbers on offense and lost I think I heard???? No turnovers and over 500 yards total offense and we lost????? |

Re: Cowpukes postgame finger pointing thread
The Cowboys played a good game and didn't make many mistakes. Really none on offense.
We could have played a lot better and left a lot of points on the board. Dallas is a really good team. And we only lost by 5. We're right there. A few pieces away on defense and some serious red zone issues to work out. They really need to scrap the whole RZ playbook and create a brand new one. And it better not include any direct snaps to the RB. Sandtrap, please beat the Giants and Eagles! We would be much obliged.

Re: Cowpukes postgame finger pointing thread
Really, really bummed today. The first three drives sunk us by simply not converting drives into TD'S.
It was the worst our RZ offense has looked in a while. Once we got inside the 10 we just simply self destructed. "oh know! we're near the goal line what the f*** do we do now??? Better call a timeout!" "No ... I know! Let's try a direct snap!!" On defense, just a general lack of team speed and no real every down playmakers in the center of the field. Still ... we have a good team and a solid shot at the playoffs this year. Gotta get back up and play two tough road games. I still believe this is a solid team and better times are on there way.

Re: Cowpukes postgame finger pointing thread
C'mon, he's better in his rookie year than Smith is now. He looks like a great QB so far.

Re: Cowpukes postgame finger pointing thread
Preston Smith and Kerrigan are very similar players (big guys that really only have 1 move), obviously Kerrigan is better, but their style is the same. You could say the same about Murphy. We need a speed rusher. I believe they will draft an OLB.
Based on watching our defense next year, there aren't many guys that I think should be starting on a playoff caliber team. CB - Norman CB - Breeland FS - Draft or Free Agent SS - Draft or Free Agent OLB - Draft or Free Agent MLB - Cravens MLB - Draft or Free Agent OLB - Kerrigan DE - Draft or Free Agent NT - Draft or Free Agent DE - Baker Now, I'm not saying all of these will actually happen, but I could see a lot of guys being replaced. Depending on how Fuller plays the last 5 games, we might also need a new slot CB. Basically need a lot of help right down the middle.

Re: Cowpukes postgame finger pointing thread
Yeah, obviously BPA plays a major role in the draft, hence how we got Doctson, but in an ideal world the BPA (or very close to the BPA) are all defensive players. I really don't see any holes on our offense that need to be replaced now that Long has been established as a solid center. I trust Scott to get the job done for next year.

And thank God we got Doctson. Lol. I know he could be potentially very good even great. Who knows? Im being a wiseguy. But I wouldn't argue BPA using him as an example of why it works at this point because we know nothing about him at this level. |

Re: Cowpukes postgame finger pointing thread
I had no problem drafting him and still don't. I still don't think we'll re-sign Jackson, so he'll be a starter next year.

Re: Cowpukes postgame finger pointing thread
look at our red zone offense . . . we could really use Doctson (someone with height, size and leaping ability (and speed) is very valuable there), which is one of the reason it made sense.
