So who do you trust to be more accurate, JLC and Bram who are probably pretty close to the situation, or some unnamed guy from PFT?

It makes sense. Which is why Snyder won't do it.

I'm not sure why, but the more I think about it the more this move seems to make sense. Mariucci fits with the staff we've hired/promoted; he's a known quantity to Vinny and he'd make a splash, which would still appeal to the somewhat-reformed Snyder. (Yep, I do believe that he did change for the better under Gibbs.) Also, waiting to hire him after the SB would explain the stalling tactics over hiring Fassel. I think if Fassel were the first choice, he'd be hired by now. I think he's Danny's hold card. If things work out, Mariucci will get the job; if they fall apart, then Danny will turn to Fassel.

Of course, I could be 100% wrong.

I heard them talking on the NFL network this morning and there reporter (forgot his name) spoke with Mariucci. He said Mar. did not conferm that he has spoken to the skins but did tell him that he does want to return to coaching. To me its sounding more and more like Mar. will be our next coach and some of these hirings would make more sense.

i believe adam schefter is the reporter you're talking about. and, if i'm not mistaken, what mooch said was that "the itch" to come back is stronger than it was last year. or some intentionally non-committing statement like that.

i think this makes too much sense not to happen. there's no holes in the theory.

Well the one hole is the notion that VC and Mooch are really tight. I don't think that's necessarily true

whats so great about mooch anyway? He sucked with detroit and he inherited a great 49ers team,am i wrong about this? at this point i dont think I give a shit anymore,I've been reading all these threads for weeks now and this is my first time to weigh in,no hire at this point is going to satisfy me,Snyder is back to his old tricks again and seems to be unraveling everything good that we felt about this team.I know he means well and spends the money, but I wish he would have never bought the team,it should have stayed in the cooke family

What are Mooch great coaching skills?

What is his reputation rating?? Not good from what I can see. Better analyst on NFL Network.

I just watched the NFL network interview with Mooch and my conclusion is:

HE'S OUR MAN!!

Even Deion said, take me with you.
