No, you were right to correct me. The difference between 33 and 34 for a player like McNabb does make a BIG difference. We should lobby all we can to move the season up a couple months. I'm guessing Goodell isn't listening.

My snark wasn't directed at you, rather, pretty much everywhere at once.

Re: McNabb a REDSKIN!

I guess this means that we're offseason champs one more year. McNabb AND controlling the flow of the NFL draft? With the ability to do that, who needs blocking or tackling?

can't draft a lineman now right? how is this diff than drafting a lineman with the 1st and a QB with the 2nd as far as our line plan?

Re: McNabb a REDSKIN!

So does this mean that McNabb wants to come here? I thought he was against going to the Raiders...and maybe the Rams? I thought he wanted to go to Minny or AZ. And isn't he on the last year of his contract?

I love it. Nothing changes your fortunes like a QB. Keep in mind, nobody keeps INTs to a minimum like Donovan McNabb. I can find stats to back that up all day long.

Football is about turnovers. The 3-4 defense is designed to create them, and few QBs minimize them like Donovan does.

Excellent point, though, that would mean that the biggest change from last year to this year was the defensive aggression. Which, I hope, would have been a change all along.

Turnover margin wins games, but McNabb is a fumbler, and we need a super-strong offensive line to protect him and make sure he keeps moving the chains. He'll take care of the INTs on his own, which I think helps with the development of the receivers a bunch.

Don't get your panties in bunch, m8. With all the bootlegs and stuff along with the big targets on O, McNabb will feel younger already after Fat Andy tried to make him a pure pocket passer.

Hmmm, perhaps he'll break the Heath Shuler curse on jersey #5? After all, Colt didn't....

His shelf-life is 2 seasons and I'm good with that.
I think he's got longer than that. 3-5 quality seasons. He keeps himself in good shape.

ARE YOU KIDDING??? He has battled injuries almost every year! He rarely creates with his legs anymore....

Yet he's going to get up to 5 more quality seasons?

Shanahan the elder's O has a lot of bootlegs and play action and deep balls.
