Re: 2011 NFL Free Agency Thread
Why would both Doughty and Horton be on the bubble? I can see Horton being on the bubble, but Doughty has been an okay backup SS and a good special teams player. If we let both of them go who would be our primary backup SS?

Re: 2011 NFL Free Agency Thread
Well technically Doughty is a FA I believe. Not saying both are gone, just that neither's roster spot is safe

Re: 2011 NFL Free Agency Thread
For one thing Doughty is a free agent, if they think they can sign a better FA then he's gone.

Their limited physical gifts means that there's always a good chance someone might replace them, even though they are nice stories and likable guys.

Re: 2011 NFL Free Agency Thread
I guess ppl are happy with players who contribute to .500 or less record year after year.

Sounds like Carson Palmer is indeed retiring.

Yeah Mike Brown was like (to paraphrase) "If he doesn't want to be here, we don't want him here"

Dumb. Seems like they could have at least gotten a couple of a mid rounders for him.

Re: 2011 NFL Free Agency Thread
Yup. And that's why the Bengals are and always will be the Bengals as long as Mike Brown is alive.
