Plus that was TWO AND THREE QAURTERS,NOT ONE YEAR.And of course I only went back to 2009,why would I go any further? That was the yr before Shanahan got here and switched the defense

They had one decent year in sacks and you cherry picked it. The 4-3 and the great Greg Williams didn't do squat in terms of changing games. We were never this great defense that fans claim. Bend but not break doesn't make you a good defense.

4-3 Defense
2005 - 20th in NFL in sacks
2006 - 32nd in NFL in sacks
2007 - 16th in NFL in sacks
2008 - 28th in NFL in sacks
2009 - 8th in NFL in sacks

3-4 Defense Change
2010 - 25th in NFL in sacks
2011- 11th in NFL in sacks

4-3 Defense
2005- 14th in NFL in INTs
2006- 32nd in NFL in INTs
2007- 23rd in NFL in INTs
2008- 17th in NFL in INTs
2009- 26th in NFL in INTs

3-4 Defense Change
2010 - 19th in NFL in INTs
2011 - 25th in NFL in INTs

The new owner in Miami is a Danny Boy wannabe and he wants big names/celebrity folks associated with the franchise.

Ross is a huge douche bag. He showed his ass quite a bit during the lockout period.

I wasnt cherry picking,I just went to the yr before shanahan took over.I dont want to get in a pissing match with you over this,I want to get along with everybody, were just not going to agree on this. The defense improved on interceptions,so what? The defense is not any better,if anything its worse.Untill we get a nosetackle than can anchor that line its probably gonna stay that way.For the life of me I can not understand how anyone thinks it was a smart move to switch to the 3-4 without the personel to run it.Good coaches run the schemes that fit their players, not the other way around.
I think if you asked experts around the league you would get a unanamous descision that shanahan is a good coach but terrible at being a GM.To me this was the first of his many bad descisions as GM.{yes I know bruce Allen is the GM but we all know its Mike calling the shots}
Remember the yr Clevelands defense sucked so bad then in the offseason shanahan signed almost their whole defensive line? He cannot be trusted with full control, his ego is bigger then Dallas and I dont see him improving. The team will probably get better despite him with our high draft order

Don't give any credit to the Broncos' defense either. Tebow was the one who shoved Marion Barber out of bounds when all they had to do was run some clock. He was also the one who forced Marion Barber to fumble as they were getting into field goal range too.

Then we should fire Haslett and hire Spags during the off season, before the Eagles do.

Spags is a good DC, but he's not a great one. You'll get great creativity in blitz packages, but more now than ever, blitzing isn't how you play winning defense in the NFL.

He's a lot better than Haslett who's defenses are always up and down.

So did the Seahawks put the last nail in the coffin for Spags?

If I was the Rams I give him one more year, the poor guy has had nothing but bad luck with injuries to critical players in critical areas. This team is so short on talent that any injury kills it.
