Re: LOL @ Redskins
I can't believe people are asking for firings and people to lose their job.
You do realize these head coaches inherited a team with NO TALENT. I don't understand why Skins fans fall in love with all these players just because they know their names. The offensive line is still in shambles. It's going to take a while to rebuild that with good players. Like someone else said, we are an old team. It's going to take a while to get younger. You cannot pin all these points on the the 3-4 defense. Don't forget that's the ONLY reason we have one four games this year - the turnovers they have been able to create. Once again, I think it comes down to what I see over and over again; Vick had all day to throw with a comfortable five seconds, while McNabb usually only had three seconds or less to throw the ball. |

We need to invest money in our offense. We haven't really done that over the years, most of our investments have been in the defense. Signing McNabb is worthless without putting the right pieces around him. |

Re: LOL @ Redskins
i have seriously been a hard core fan for like 25 years if not for this message board and the cool folks on it I would have jumped ship in the last 3 years.
I feel like this team has no future it is just so F--ked. I was born in Fairfax but grew up in RI (where all my family is). My dad latched o nto the skins when we lived in Fairfax we are talking 1973. So I basically cheer for all NE teams expect the Pats. The Pats are looking really good right now.

Re: LOL @ Redskins
We ran into a heck of a buzzsaw last night. I think that game told us more about the Eagles than it did the Redskins. The Skins are still a .500 team at best and are a year away from being able to run with the big dogs, we just don't have the talent to compete right now.
The Eagles on the other hand are poised for a serious SB run if Vick stays healthy. |

Re: LOL @ Redskins
There's only one person I blame, for last nights debacle and that's Jim Haslett.
When i actually have to flip my opinion, from my idea to keep Haslett,to Sir ClintonPortis in firing him and rather having Wade (sig)....you know we played bad defense. There is just no excuse for what he did last night. Why would you run a Zone, when we played Bump & Run Man and won 17-12 last game? I actually have no problem running the 3-4 over the 4-3... I don't even have a problem running this scheme, when we don't have all 11 players on D who fit this 3-4 scheme... But nothing irks me more than changing what works, into trying something else and being creative... My actual life Motto...is "don't FIX IT,if it ain't broken"...Hell,I've used it as a SIG before...because I truly believe those words. If we had got our ass kicked because we didn't know how to game plan against the eagles...that's one thing. But to run a completely different scheme and strategy, when the one you used last time had your team up 14-0 is unacceptable. You guys can blame Landry,McNabb,M. Shanahan..Kyle...I don't care who you blame. Only 1 guy gets the blame from me..and that's Jim Haslett. I'm not sure he shouldn't be fired RIGHT NOW after that performance...seriously!! And I'm not a fire a coach, in the season kinda guy at all...

Re: LOL @ Redskins
I am first to bash some of the morans that have run this organization the past 10 years. However, it was Shanny that wanted to run this 3-4 this year, vs waiting for the right players to run it. Hazlett is doing the best he can with really nothing to work with. We have maybe 2 or 3 legit 3-4 pieces to have the D work with any consistant results. Orakpo, Fletcher, Landry, maybe Hall (sometimes) the rest of them are really not fitting in. The fact we have forced so many turnovers is quite amazing to me given that fact that we are normally getting run over or out of position, so I give him credit for creating that type of attitude.
This game last night turned on a couple of plays. Yeah, the 1st play was a horrible way to start the game. But, we come back and run the ball 3 straight times??. 2nd time with the ball, down 14-0, 3rd down, McNabb get pressured, he moves out and throws a ball that Moss should have caught. I think he felt a little scared of getting hit and stopped running. He catches that, 1st down drive still alive. Instead interception, down 21-0. Next possession, OLD ASS Galloway drops a beautiful thrown ball that would have been a first down, drive still alive. Instead, we punt and now down 28-0. We had opportunities to be in the game but those few plays really summed up the night. Eagles hit every single opportunity given to them. Missed tackles by a bunch of us on that 50 yard run. We make those 1st downs early in the game, keep the ball, drive down get some points and I am not sure, but i think the Eagles consistant aggressive playcalling may have been scaled back a bit. They had nothing to lose and everything to gain by going for the throat after leading 21-0. We will see how this team responds next week. Hopefully, come out with some fire and want to prove something. Because right now, we have once again made ourselves into a joke in the NFL by last nights horrible showing on national TV. |
