Perfect time for a bridge QB like McCoy then. Build up the rest of the team for the next guy. Maybe even let Cousins throw for 5000 yards and 30 TDs. Oh, and probably 30INTs as well

a good O-line can make an average QB look good. The Redskins won Superbowls with average QBs

Could not agree more. Draft the best available that fits the team you want to be. That's how to build quality depth.

McCoy and Cousins aren't a terrible option for next year.

Basically the front office kept the same crappy team from last year and changed one guy, the head coach. I'm really mad at myself for having stupid expectations.

I don't think we know what we want to be.

I would love to have an offense built like Cincy where Gruden already found success. Huge O line, monster receivers and TEs that can catch, run, and block and a fair QB who won't throw the game away.

It would be a good offensive build to run in December and January in a cold snowy stadium in Maryland. That's an allusion to the games at the end of the year and home field advantage in the playoffs. Felt it was necessary to spell it out on this board.

Whatever, the FO needs to pick an identity and build for it. We (not us, the FO) don't even know what we want to be. If someone put BA on the spot and asked him what type of lineman we are looking for in the draft, what would he say?

Bigger/ stronger/ longer for power run and pass pro or smaller/ quicker/ faster for zone and roll outs.

I'm guessing he doesn't know right now. The notion that our GM and president of football operations wouldn't definitively know what attributes we would prioritize in our prototypical o lineman is scary.

If we were ever to draft First Round OL talent, we wouldn't need to compromise on size and strength versus athleticism. We could get players who are bigger, stronger, longer, quicker, and faster than other OL's.

This draft is strong for OL and weak for safeties. If I ruled the world, I'd go after FA safety help and draft OL with my first two picks. I'd even try to move up into the first round for my second pick if it was necessary to get the right player.

But what do I know? I'm just an ignorant fan who is dying to see the Skins fix their OL problems.

That character issue thing people keep talking about is kinda overblown. Being slightly immature is something different than character issues. The guy can play though.

Shameless self-promotion. It is what it is.

Don't think we should draft Winston, but they have to think about it. He's the kind of guy where you would have to sit him for a couple years. Let him get use to being a professional. We need our early picks to play right away.

Slightly?
He's a dope.
The kid can't get out of his own way.

There isn't a position in sports under the microscope like NFL QB.

He is a tremendous talent but there couldn't be a worse time for him to join the NFL.
The GM that drafts him in the first round is going to put his career on the line for him.

He hasn't been that good this year.

My biggest worry is how he handles losing and adversity. Possibly could be meltdown city, Vince young style

He's seems like a mentally tough kid. With the drama that surrounds him, he seems to handle it well. But an unstable franchise like the Redskins is the last place for Winston to come. He needs to go somewhere that's 100% about football.

He's been resilient on the field for sure. U trust him off the field? He just a kid, think another year would really help him.

Re: 2015 Draft - Quarterbacks

Winston would totally fit our system though. Not saying we should draft him, but as someone who has watched almost every FSU game, he can read through his options, he can be patient and aware in the pocket, and he can make ALL the throws. He can move around in the pocket and scramble when he has to.

I also want about half a dozen other FSU players (some of whom wouldn't be available in this years draft).
