Re: Around the NFL: NFL Offseason
Most impressive to me is how big a step forward he took between these 2 preseason games... Day and night. You like a fast learner as your rookie NFL QB...

Re: Around the NFL: NFL Offseason
I couldn't understand the praise last week, I know it is rookie quarterback enthusiasm, but looked to me like most of his passes were checkdowns less than 5 yards from the line of scrimmage. Doesn't mean he won't be good in the future but the media gets carried away way to early

Chicago should play Fields now…unfortunately Nagy and Pace are trying to keep their jobs and will probably go with the safer option

Re: Around the NFL: NFL Offseason
So far these rookie QB's look really good, especially Lance and Wilson.. Going to be interesting once the real defenses show up in 2 weeks.

On a personal note, I drafted Lance in my FFL in late round so I'm hoping Lance will eventually starts after a few games. Or otherwise I have wasted my 15th round pick. |

Re: Around the NFL: NFL Offseason
Saw part of the PFF podcast this morning and they made the rather good point that the Bears play the Rams wk1, best to let Dalton take those lumps than destroy a rookies confidence right out of the gate

Re: Around the NFL: NFL Offseason
They have been trying to trade him since the draft. They are waiting for a major QB injury among a top half of the league team for draft capital which isn’t a bad strategy at this point.

Re: Around the NFL: NFL Offseason
The rookie Qb's look good cause no one is game planning, vanilla defenses, basic coverages, some are playing against 2nd and 3rd stringers. Reality will set in week one. Like all rookies they're going to have their lumps.

You can see Zach Wilson's progress in mechanics, throws and confidence though. Difference in a week is an encouraging sign for his future.

But he hasn't been tested yet. Preseason is not a good indicator of success.

Re: Around the NFL: NFL Offseason
Caleb Brantley (who exempt himself fmor 2020) is unsigned. not even sure he got a camp invite anywhere.
Thaddeus Moss, may make the Bengals as 3rd string TE, got that LSU connection with Burrow. Sua Cravens - finished his degree w USC, part of their pre and post game radio. Seems happy with his life choices, has a baby girl. |
