Re: Redskins Final Cuts

As I have said all along, Banks is not a WR. He hasn't taken a snap at WR all preseason. He's a KR and shouldn't count amongst the WR's.

That said, 7 WR's is still one too many.

As to Nield, as much as he was my late round man crush, I am worried about him at No.2 NT. From what I saw, he played way too high and got pushed around a bit. Hopefully, coaches are seeing something I am not.

The guy does play with a nasty streak, if he can get his technique down he could be a good filler in the middle. He is also the kind of guy who is going to do what ever it takes to stay on this team.

I agree - but, at this point, he seems a huge drop off from Cofield. A year on the PS would have been a real benefit IMHO.

Agreed, he is no Cofield. There may have been interest from other teams and that would have procluded us from stashing him on the PS. Haslett I would think would be the coach who made the call to keep him. There must be something they all saw.

I thought for sure Bryant was a lock, it is indeed very shocking.

Re: Redskins Final Cuts

So, right now, who are the back ups on OL?

Cook apparently have made it - who else? Locklear?

Hicks to be traded/cut, Hurt to the PS.

Willie Smith, undrafted rookie from E.Carolina.

Re: Redskins Final Cuts

Also, on the Nield keep, maybe they see Golston/Nield as backups at NT and good 4-3 DT rotation.

Nield and Barry are the only "true" NT, though I imagine Has will slide someone else in there. I don't think the roster is set though.

They envision Neild being able to play different positions. When they move Cofield off the nose to DE (in some situations) he can play there as well as back up Carriker. Was actually surprised to see him make the 53, albeit a pleasant one.

No idea who Anderson is but I like that you list banks under special teams.... Atleast until we trade him to the texans.
