Re: Colin Kaepernick

LOL

Fan base reaction? I can't speak for everyone, but I would have been pissed. A 33 year old QB with a losing record, less than 60% career completion percentage, who hadn't played a down in 4 years. I think that would have been ridiculous, and cause for removal - for whoever made that dumb decision.

Re: Colin Kaepernick

He sucks, any fan base should be against signing him. Dude was a 1 trick pony. The league caught up to him real fast.

Similar to RGIII, except I think RGIII could have been at least semi successful, if his ego wasn't so big.

Re: Colin Kaepernick

I would love to see the racists out themselves over this but don’t want to see a veteran qb lead the team to 2nd in the division year after year.
.
Draft a guy till you get it right.

Re: Colin Kaepernick

There are definitely QB signings in this team history that have been 100 times worst (Shane Matthews/Danny Wuerffel anyone?)

But I'd rather have thread about pointless hypothetical trade discussions than pointless what ifs scenarios that are going to get people upset for no reason.

As a Noles fan, this re-opened old wounds.

Danny Wuerffel killed me in college then killed me in the NFL, in 2 completely different ways.

I don't remember Shane in college, but I know he played for UF and sucked for us.

Steve Spurrier hiring was fucking awful. Classic Snyder.

Re: Colin Kaepernick

I hate these type of threads because I fear football purgatory.
8 or 9 win seasons don’t mean shit.
Hoping for a lucky playoff run every 5th year sucks.

Draft a QB till you get a great one.
This is the single most important position in sports.
Journey men contracts are in the 20+ mil per year range.
Spend the money on talent around a rookie QB.
Start the rookie 17 games and if he sucks, we will be in good position to draft the next one.

I wanted to compare Spurriers record to Rivera and came up with this gem on wiki.

As the 2002 season progressed, an increasing number of philosophical, strategic, and player personnel differences began to cause a rift between Spurrier and the Washington front office, including team owner Daniel Snyder.[95][96] Snyder pushed for the drafting of Tulane quarterback Patrick Ramsey in the 2002 NFL Draft, and though Spurrier said that he would not play Ramsey very much during his rookie season, the coach was pressured to use him by team officials, and Ramsey was starting by game 4.[97] The quarterback position continued to be a source of friction, particularly when, over Spurrier's objections, the front office decided to release Wuerffel before the start of Spurrier's second season.[98][99] Spurrier later said that he "knew it was over" when he "wasn't allowed to pick the backup quarterback".[97]

Kaepernick is a fraud on and off the field.
