Part of getting older is also, hopefully, getting wiser. Part of getting wiser is just kind of accepting what your genetics gave you for your body and face.

I'm not saying that getting a nose job is bad if you have an enormous snout, or having a reasonable boob job if it makes a woman feel more attractive.

But I agree with you that 80-90% of the plastic surgery doesn't look that good and makes you stare MORE than what they had before. Some plastic surgery just turns out BAD. Every surgery is a risk. Is it really worth it?

Re: WTF thread

Idk how I keep going down this rabbit hole of brutal murders, but last week it was watching a gang fight in some South American prison where dudes were getting hacked to death with a machete and now this week it's cab drivers getting brutally stabbed to death/shot in the back of the head. What a horrible way to go.

Re: WTF thread

Sports Illustrated laid off half their employees in one day? A company that big, did it like that? That's a selfish as fuck move. Laying off that many people doesn't sneak up on you.

Personally, I never had a subscription to the actual physical magazine, but I stopped visiting their page altogether when Peter King decided after 20ish years of having no problem saying Redskins, he was all of the sudden "woke". How fucking convenient. He is the worst kind of coward. Waits until it's a thing, then all of the sudden wants to pretend that he is a Native American activist.

Side note - Being a writer/columnist seems like an awful job. Not because the work sucks, but the threat of being laid off would be terrible. There are a million ways to get your sports nowadays, but it's not possible to have a million successful companies to pay the writers.

I still sub to the magazine but only because when my sub runs out they send mailers offering 1/2 year subs for super cheap, like 20/30 a year. Good bathroom reading material for me.

Obviously they're super hurting if they laid off that many people. And yeah def. a dick move. It's the state of print media nowadays though.

I had a subscription between the ages of 8-12, that was a long time ago late 60's to early 70's. I am kind of shocked what some of the magazines that have been around since then have changed. Most have shrunk in size while now being 50% ads and pushing a liberal agenda. I am old enough to remember when most of the media whether in print or broadcast was politically neutral.

I would tend to agree if the guy lived in a Vietnamese neighborhood. Decades ago I worked at a place that had quite a few Vietnamese guys, some of the stuff they heated up at lunch time flat out reeked. They must have been eating rotten fish. Another thing they pretty much ate everything. Saw a guy bring in a cooked chicken, still with the head and feet on it.

When I was a kid, sometimes there would be Vietnamese or Korean people at the Park having a Picnic and they would be cooking Kim hi...

Re: WTF thread

Had a 3.1 earthquake hit my area in upstate NY at 6:43 this morning. Scared the shit outta me. It was this big rumble, sounded like a train was crashing into my house, lasted for about 3-4 seconds. Walls were shaking and I was legit freaked out, I looked out my window expecting to see a big accident, a few minutes later I started getting texts about an earthquake.

I used to live in Southern California close to the San Andreas fault. Earthquakes were so common there a 3.1 probably wouldn't even get anyone's attention. I was at work close to the 1987 Whittier quake, now that was a nasty one. I can understand someone not used to them wondering what the hell is happening.
