One play in particular, Bucs show blitz and bring blitz, Mahomes throws a hot route to WR Hardman on the outside who never turned to look at the ball and it basically hit him unaware bc he never realized it was a hot route situation. Does Mahomes have to call out hot route or do you expect your QB and WR to be on the same page non verbally.

They refused to adjust. They keep calling 5 step medium to long developing pass plays, rarely helping that LT bc your TE Kelce was always a down field route runner.

Also ... I understand Mahomes was under pressure .. but you cant be running 20 yards backwards every time you feel pressure.
Exactly

Thanks for taking the time...because I sure as hell wasn’t gonna explain the obvious

Idk if it is that easy to adjust out of the heat the Bucs bought especially with that porous oline play. Also not sure it is that obvious they didn’t try. When you dominate every defense you play for two years im sure you are thinking it will happen eventually and lets go with what has worked for so long....
Also on a couple of those 20 yard drops he threw balls on his head that should’ve or could’ve still been caught.

Re: Super Bowl Gameday Thread

If the other team gets home rushing 4 all game, to the tune of a Super Bowl record, there is not much you can do pre-snap to fix it. Mahomes had no chance. I'm sure there were a few plays he could've done more, but that's the same every game. If you have 5 guys that can't remotely get close to blocking 4 guys, your offense doesn't have much of a chance.

Re: Super Bowl Gameday Thread

Yes, Mahomes made some incredible throws escaping and throwing under pressure .. with a turf toe to boot. I honestly dont know how much he was calling adjustments or protections but he seemed very non-vocal compared to TB.

hes 25. he was the chiefs best O player by far. loss not on Mahomes. but I was surprised he didnt seem to take control pre snap.

I imagine an Aaron Rodgers/Drew brees/Tom Brady would have been very vocal. things have seemingly come easy for the Chiefs. They can dictate the style of play and never have to adjust. Basically got punched in the mouth last night and never got up.

I thought Bucs showed blitz and blitzed a good bit. All that pressure wasnt just from rushing 4. At one point the Bucs blitzed both corners.

The Bucs clearly showed that they were the best team in the NFL this year. Best team doesn't always win. This year they did. Hats off to them.

Howard ruptured his achilles in September. But yeah, those other 2 did nothing. And they still shredded the Chiefs. Speaks to the obscene weapons Brady has.

Re: Super Bowl Gameday Thread

Bruno Mars was the best halftime show imo.

Re: Super Bowl Gameday Thread

I'm no Bruno Mars fan but it's the best one I can remember. Justin Timberlake has a little talent to as much as I hate to admit it.

The last actually good one was probably Prince with that college marching band in 2007.

Last nights was boring, garbage music and could barely hear the vocals.

Last year's was a sh!%show not appropriate for family viewing.

Beyonce advertising for the Black Panthers was disgusting.

The Madonna and Minaj show gave the country herpes.

They just need to get a real rock band and stop with this talentless pop garbage. Not old dudes like Bruce Springsteen or Tom Petty, someone still entertaining.

Heck, hire Metallica.

Re: Super Bowl Gameday Thread

How dare anyone complain about a "historic" ref?

The were going on about her at the beginning of the game and said she was emotional about the experience and had tears in her eyes. I said to my wife "How is she going to see then, it's kinda part of the job to be able to see." Wife was not amused.

It is sooooo important. Im almost as concerned about our run game going forward as I am about the quarterback position. Not necessarily just our rb corp but the blocking and scheming. I mean we had zero run game this year. Zero. Man that will help us if we can improve it.
