9/11

Really hard to believe it’s been 20 years.

Really hope that nothing happens today so people can remember in peace.

Hope everyone is doing alright.

God bless the fire fighters and first responders climbing those towers immediately after the attack. It’s the still the biggest event of my life, covid pandemic is second to this

Pure evil from hell could only commit those acts against the innocent

Re: 9/11

I'm thankful for the sacrifices that were made so that 20 years later, I can go out and have a nice Saturday and not have to fear for my life.

A fire department that I work with at my job - who also responded to the Pentagon on 9/11 - posted that we as a nation have lost almost 3500 first responders to medical illnesses suffered from responding to 9/11, which is insane to me. It makes me angry to think about how long they had to fight (shoutout to Jon Stewart for the assist) to get a bill through Congress to have their medical bills covered.

As a nation we're quick to never forget 9/11 but it seems there are plenty of people in a position of authority who have forgotten about the sacrifices still being made to this day by people who responded.

Stories from those in the region who were impacted that day.

Personally - I was in 7th grade in a school about 5 miles south of the Pentagon - and I didn't understand the severity of the situation until the 2nd plane hit the 2nd tower. Somebody told us that a building in New York had collapsed and I thought they were saying it was a demolition at first - and then the 2nd plane hit, and then the Pentagon was hit and some of my classmates started getting scared - I'm assuming because they had parents that worked at the Pentagon or in DC. School was released early after that.

Re: 9/11

Wild to think there's a very real chance everyone in this video who lived is either dead or suffering very real health problems from breathing in that air 20 years ago today. The beeping you hear is the alarms going off from firefighters that didn't make it out.

I'm sure you guys have seen this iconic image of Ladder 118's last run - everyone on this truck including Scott Davidson (aka the father of Pete) died on 9/11.

Without going into details . I had two very good friends who lost loved ones in the Towers ,my Father in Law was suppose to be at the Pentagon that day and was not and my brother in law who was also in the Trade Center Complex the first time the parking garage was bombed was lost and out of contact for about 4 hours .

Re: 9/11

The reading of the names felt particularly tough this year. Just knowing that so much loss and grief is attached to each name. So many kids have grown up without a parent. Just brutal.
