% of yards gained through the air in their Ohio State careers

Dwayne Haskins: 51.4%
Justin Fields: 71.9%

The "Ohio State QBs don't translate" narrative is lazy. Evaluate what Fields is actually doing in the offense

Re: The Too Soon 2021 NFL Draft Thread

Fields looked bad today.

Zach Wilson is growing on me tho

PFF College
@PFF_College
·
9h
Highest accurate pass % 20+ yards downfield
1⃣ Zach Wilson, BYU - 75%
2⃣ Sam Howell, UNC - 61%
3⃣ Trevor Lawrence, Clemson - 60.7%
4⃣ Kyle Trask, Florida - 59.3%

Also, I know PFF was shiting on Trask prior to the season...I think Trask has responded fairly well. I especially like Dan Mullen as his coach

Wilson is the real deal, Trask has played great as well for sure.

Re: The Too Soon 2021 NFL Draft Thread

Be surprised if the order changes dramatically between now and end of season, particularly the Jets, Jags and Bengals going 1, 2 & 3. Bengals don't need a new QB (at least lets hope so for Burrow's sake) so even if the Jags get a win or two and move into the 3rd slot, I'd say Lawrence, Fields and Sewell are gone by the time we pick at 4 or lower, whatever order they go in.

If we do stay at 4, then I'd say go WR (Chase) or LB (Parsons), unless Zach Wilson surges up the board (in which case he might go at #2 or 3 instead of Fields?!).

Then what about picking up Darnold as QB 2 (or maybe even starter) if the QB we want isn't there at #4? If the Jets grab Lawrence he could go relatively cheaply and we could draft for the other glaring gaps in our arsenal without giving up too much draft stock for a QB or picking a lesser QB too high that turns into a reach.

I would take a chance on Darnold if we miss out on Wilson or Fields. I mean why not?

Re: The Too Soon 2021 NFL Draft Thread

I'd give the Jets one of our 3rd's for Darnold. Then we could build the rest of the roster with the other 7 picks. That might not get it done, but I'd offer it.

Adam Gase is the new Bill O'Brien. He plays a major role in how fucked up the Jets are.

A 3rd for a recent former 1st round pick seems reasonable to me. Especially considering we have 2 of them.

If that's your logic we should get a third for Haskins easy. Former first round pick, still young, plays the most important position.

The reality is both Haskins and Darnold were benched for performance. That diminishes their value greatly. Even if Gase gets fired Darnold is a lame duck qb with a new coaching staff that probably doesn't want him.

Both their values are tanked, I'd be surprised if us or the Jets got anything higher than a 5th.

Maybe my value is a bit high. But Darnold is better than Haskins with more on field results. Whatever Darnold is worth, Haskins is worth at least a round lower.

I just don't want to force a QB pick again if the talent doesn't match the draft selection. Hopefully all options are still on the table.

That was my point, if the value isn't there, pick need or trade down for a good package. And I doubt anyone offers the farm for the #4 or 5 pick.
