Who goes? Ohalete or Bowen?

Do we lose one of these 2 and keep the other at SS? Anyone think we can keep both, bearing in mind Ohalete is a FA? Trade maybe?

IN any case I am SO glad we took Taylor.

i dont think that either one of those players is leaving, but one will certainly be benched, and i think it should be Bowen. Ohalete is faster, and younger. He has also shown great improvement since he was signed as an undrafted FA. Bowen is the big hitter, but we have that with Taylor, so he can ride the bench now.

We have a contract with Bowen. But I think we will resign Iffy to be a backup. Bowen will be better playing as a strong safety than a free safety. Iffy is going to have to give up his number though. Does anyoen have 22, its my favorite number so I hope portis or taylor gets that. Mabye Sultan has it, anyone know?

I thinl Iffy will be benched, bowens natural position is SS and taylor will of course play FS, Iffy will play special teams and be a backup....or maybe he will be let go of all together?

What makes Bowen a natural for FS? I keep hearing that and just wonder what it's based on? If he is a natural FS, why didn't he play there and Iffy play SS? Is Iffy incapable of playing SS? Also, I read that Taylor played FS in college but is projected to play SS in the pros, why is that? Anybody know?

Other than the SS playing over the TE, I have forgotten the different skill set requirements for SS and FS. Can anybody give me a Safety 101 class?

Thanks

I think youve got it mixed up. Last year Bowen and Taylor played free safety and Iffy played strong. Bowen is normally a strong safety but had to play free safety because Iffy doesnt have very good cover skills or a good ability to read the QB. Taylor will definiltly play free safety for us, hes going to roam the field picking off the ball and crushing players. Bowen will be more of a hit the receiver after teh catch type of player.

I'd much rather see Iffy start over Bowen. Bowen has yet to do a single thing to help me. In pre-season I was a little hyped. I figured hell, if he can give our players concussions, what will he do to the other team? The answer was nothing. He got burned and didn't see any sort of solid play out of him. Iffy has the speed to make up for mistakes, will be cheaper, and is also much younger. I think Ohalate is a great player.

As to him giving up 26, don't count on it. Portis and Taylor are new to the team. Wait in line fellas.

I think coach Gibbs will let Iffy / Bowen / Sean compete for the safety positions. --- Iffy is an excellent special team playmaker.

__________ Note: Kato Serwanga is also excellent special team playmaker.

:headbange: __________ Do U think ( Gibbs + Danny ) will bring Kato back _?

I think we might need to send you to rehab for "Smilies Addicts" LOL

The problem with Kato is that he wears.....number 26!

Iffy isn't even under contract right now, right? I think he's gone.

What did Bowen play in GB?

In any event, Taylor is going to be an all-universe FREE safety. Free to roam, hunt, crush, kill and destroy. Hopefully Bowen can turn his skill at hitting his teammates into decent strong safety skills to give nice run support, underneath help, etc.

If iffy comes cheap, why not give him a shot at backup? What's the downside, except the number issue? (and that might lead to an interesting boxing match...).

I saw Iffy make far few bad plays last year than Bowen. I mean, I can't even think of one positive play Bowen made.

Not to mention, not sure how big of a signing bonus Bowen got, but Iffy comes much cheaper and would definitly be a good defensive back, since Williams loves them so!
