New Games on the Horizon (the video game thread)
Any body get Bio Shock 2 yet? I am itching to play that one.
Amazon.com: Bioshock 2: Xbox 360: Video Games Also I want to play this Heavy Rain that is coming out for PS3. Amazon.com: Heavy Rain: Playstation 3: Video Games This looks good as well. Amazon.com: Dante's Inferno Divine Edition:... I will get each of them in the next few months, for a couple of reasons one I don't pay $60 for a game (nothing depreciates faster then a video game) and second I want to hit prestige in MW2 (at level 69 currently) and play thorough Uncharted 2. You guys know of anything else cool coming out?

I could never get in to the first Bioshock. Amazing graphics and an original story but just not my cup of tea I guess.
I'm looking forward to the new Splinter Cell Amazon.com: Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Conviction: Xbox 360: Video Games Crackdown 2 should be good too Amazon.com: Crackdown 2: Xbox 360: Video Games |

Not a big fan of Crackdown 1, Splinter looks awesome.

re: New Games on the Horizon (the video game thread)
I got Bioshock 2 for PS3 on Tuesday and I think I'm about half-way through the single player game already. It's pretty good, but a lot like the first one so far only I don't know that the storyline is quite as good (to be fair I thought the first game's plot was amazing).
Being able to use weapons and plasmids at the same time is pretty cool. In fact, I think the options for the weapons in general are a lot better than the first game, as is the research aspect. They also cut down the amount of first aid kits and eve hypos you can carry, so you don't feel as indestructible as you did in the first game, which I like. I tried out the multi-player mode and I was not impressed at all. It seemed really glitchy and it would freeze up a lot. Maybe I just need to give it more time.

I hate when they throw in a multiplayer just for the hell of it. NOT every game needs a multiplayer, they did it with Uncharted Two as well, just stupid.

I like to be just behind the curve with new games.
While teenager X is playing Bioshock 2 for $60 I am enjoying his used copy of Batman for $30. When he moves on from BS2 Iwill play that for $30 as well. It is a good system, I think. Very few games do I buy on release day.

Yeah no sense in paying $60 if you don't mind waiting a few months. There's only a handful of titles I'll buy right away otherwise I wait and buy it used.

I normally do that too, but I had just won a $25 Target gift card at work for winning our office Super Bowl trivia contest and another $40 for winning the 4th quarter of our SB squares (I was so happy when the Saints stopped that late drive by the Colts) so I figured I'd blow my winnings on BS2.

I saw that as well, yet to see a Western movie type game that is good but this could be a first. Amazon.com: Red Dead Redemption: Xbox 360: Video... Maybe like GTA but in the Wild Wild West.

I'm also really looking forward to God Of War III. I loved the first two on PS2 so I'm hoping they really go all out with the PS3.

re: New Games on the Horizon (the video game thread)
Batman is really good definetly worth a rental at least.
Just finished Mass Effect 2 and have to say I was suprised at how good it was. ME1 was good but didn't leaving me wanting for a sequel. Just figured I would try it out and glad I did ME2 > ME1. Dante's Inferno is sitting in the mailbox and I can update in a few days. I Gamefly everything so when I am tired of it it goes back and if I want to keep it I am still payin gless than I would in the store in most cases. |
