Has he had some good games? Yes.

Has he proved he can sustain it? No. Plus, the rest of the team is trash, thanks in part to the money they have tied up in him and the fumble-machine Zeke. If Dak plays out his 4-year contract is is paid-in-full, he'll make more in those 4 years than Mahomes! Plus, they paid him $31.4 million playing on the tag. Stupid contract for a player they were talking about moving on from a year ago.

Prescott was averaging something like 425 yards a game last year before he got hurt. It was a function of a porous defense and a running game that was pretty anemic and so he had to sling it a ton (and they have good receivers, it must be admitted). He’s definitely a good QB. Is he great? Time will tell. We just need Sweat and Young to be all over him and then we’ll see. Dallas will be better defensively- they could really only improve there - as they have better players and Quinn is a solid defensive coach. But by how much?

The Giants are an improved team too and will have Barkley back. They added two excellent WRs which was a serious weakness. The O line is still suspect and their skills players will hopefully be very limited by it.

The Eagles will be crap, I think.

The end of our season could be a lot of fun - consequential division games against teams we love to hate. Bring it.

Re: 2021 schedule release

It’s weird but I’m not as worried about our schedule as others are. We aren’t going 15-2 or anything.....but we almost beat Seattle last year with Haskins playing, we’ve beat the Packers before with Rodgers at QB. Tampa beat us in the playoffs, but they didn’t destroy us, we had the ball close to the end with a chance to tie. KC isn’t unbeatable and Mahomes is coming off foot surgery and they are replacing half their O line....what if they aren’t any good? Just too many unknowns to just say we are in trouble. We seem to have made many decent to really good upgrades.

Re: 2021 schedule release

A funny scenario to think about 8 months before the last games. Imagine somehow Philly and us being in the run for the division title with NYG in the spoiler role. How funny would it be if they tanked against us just to keep Philly out. Very unrealistic I know but with the NFC East, anything can happen! Philly's last seven games are against opponents that were under .500 so they could make a late season run.

The Giants are clearly our biggest in-division threat, their offense really improved but their defense will not compete with ours.

Last year - 12th ranked D, We were 2nd.

Re: 2021 schedule release

I see some chatter out there whining about the last stretch of games all in the division. I see that as an awesome opportunity to make a season ending run to finish strong. Those games will either make us or break us.

True, but I think their D improved over the course of the season after some rougher outings early on. I think Dallas and NY will be real tests for us and I think overall the NFCE will be better than in recent years.

Of course, injuries will be key (as is always true). Which is why our recent efforts at creating more depth across the board are so welcome.

I think it kinda sux just cause those are the games I enjoy the most throughout the season. Now slotted all in the back, I dunno, takes a lil juice out the schedule just cause a couple team likely will be out of it, that intensity will be gone.

I see it both ways, but rather see these rivalries sprinkled throughout the season

Re: 2021 schedule release

It's quite a set up for season's end -- and the NFCE will be looking to outright pummel each other in December.

And not to get ahead of ourselves, but if things go well, we may be a really great story as I imagine that there are a lot of people that would root for Fitzmagic to make the playoffs and make some noise at this stage in his career. Could be a good storyline, as the Alex Smith storyline was for us last year.

I cannot wait to see our D-line get after Prescott, Hurts, and Jones. More than seeing our offense take off, I am very excited to see our D just destroy teams.

Re: 2021 schedule release

The cynic in me says the NFL didn't want our DLine demolishing the division qb's early in the season, that is why they backloaded it. Philly would have been an intriguing early season game, with the Hurts getting pulled saga fresh in every one's mind. At the end of the season it won't be nearly as relatable.

NY has LAR, Miami, Chicago
Dal has Arizona, NE, Minnesota

Those will be critical games

I agree it's harder for us. Chalk up those 3 as a loss for us for now. But I think the Giants go 1-2 in their three - LA and the Dolphins are both better teams.

Dallas also goes 1-2 in those. Arizona is really tough and New England got MILES better this offseason.

The three games we ended up with are tough as they come but the Cowboys and Giants don't have it easy either. With the NFC West teams, it doesn't matter who you draw, they're all tough.

As much as I hate it, I can see Dallas winning all 3 with their offense. I do think we sweep them again - their team won't stay healthy and focused all the way to December.

Fuck Dallas. Fuck Philly. Fuck NYG (especially).

Back to back division champs. Why not us to finally do it?

Re: 2021 schedule release

Hmmmm AT Las Vegas ... Dec 5

That looks like fun. That could be a weekend.

Saturday Dec 4:

Take down Terry Benedict's casinos.

Sunday Dec 5:

Spend some of the loot at In N Out, then pregame with any Warpath forum poster, sharing loot over beers in the new Las Vegas football stadium, and watch Chase Young take down Derek Carr.

Who's in?

"Not it" to be the chinese guy stuffed into a tiny ass box, and shoved into the vault. I get claustrophobic at times.

And fitzmagic if he's still starting usually plays the NFCE very well.
