mooby 01-08-2006, 07:39 PM I am a Lavar fan, but I am a Marcus fan as well. For the Lavar haters, you guys all talk about how much he sucks, and yada yada, but the fact is, when he is on the field, he makes an impact. No, you don't see a huge play as much as you do from marcus, but when he's on the field, other teams know where he is, and that frees things up for our other playmakers. No doubt Marcus has been the better player all year long, but as soon as Lavar does one good thing all I hear from the Lavar haters is that he was lucky, yada yada, he got lucky they ruled it down by contact, and all i hear from the Lavar worshipers is that he is totally worth it, and it proved he's still a good player. Lavar makes enough of an impact.
@offiss: You really think Chris Clemons was gonna be Lavar's full time replacement? what a daft statement, considering when Lavar wasn't in there on first and second down, Warrick Holdman was. Chris Clemons only came in on third downs to rush the passer. The reason for that is, Chris Clemons can rush the passer better than Lavar. I don't have any problem saying that, Chris Clemons has speed, and that's what his primary role is.
mcalderone10 01-08-2006, 07:40 PM NO - it was a big deal. That's the point. Lavar makes a great play followed by a bonehead play. Fortunately the defense stepped up and covered for him giving away a crucial first down. Sorry - if he gets recognition for the good stuff then fess up and admit that the was a classic dumb Lavar mistake.
Again, MW is hyped every f***ing play - When was the last time you saw him jump offsides?
To win at the highest level it takes everybody doing all the little things right. No freebies for the other team. That's what Gibbs has been preaching, that's what the majority of the players seem to understand and that's why we are in the playoffs.
you are talking like we can only keep one or the other they are BOTH BEASTS. lavar has history being one of 2 multiyear skins pro bowlers the other being samuels. like smart people have said greg williams is the genious behind the Defense stop saying MW is better he's just had more time with the GW defense remember lavar was out most of last year while marcus was playin GW way. LAVAR is just needs time he's gone through so many dif D coordinators we NEED him back this feels like its dan snyder's money paid D not the redskins D i remember with smoot champ lavar and my man Darrell Green. I love the D just gotta hold on to the same players to keep this team a team.
offiss 01-08-2006, 10:42 PM when he is coming out on third down it so the nickel back or 2 db's can come in. you know you cant deny his coverage skills. we could ague this forever im just glad your not making any of these decisions.
Sorry but you haven't been paying attention, Clemons was replacing Lavar all season on passing down's. Not a nickle corner.
PorterHouse 01-09-2006, 12:55 AM :soapbox: To rush the qb it's common knowledge that Lavar has had his problems. comin back from injury, fitting in with the system. if The Great G.W. didnt think he could help this D then he would be on the bench. He's done it already. The mans a starter and a presence. Stop hatin on him. I remember us only sendin one or two people to the pro bowl and Lavar was always one of em. How can you say you like the team and your hatin on a team mate. This guy gave his all for the Skins, Iremember every tackle he made was so hard that he would have to come out cause he hurt himself,( ask Troy if he's a player)Six years how many defensive coordinators how many different systems? Can you blame him for wanting to freelance out there. Now he knows what he got to do and thats ok with me as long as we are winning thats all that matters. I m a Redskins fan not a Marcus fan or a Lavar fan I love the whole team everyone has a roll and everyones playin it. They both had the exact same stats 9 tackles 1 pick. but the biggest thing you need to remember is the score. If anyone should go its the guy holdin the wire from Joe"s headset cause joe tripped over it at least twice.

There is a big difference between hatin and telling it like it is, perhaps Lavar is part of the reason we had a different coordinator every year? I f he gave his all for the team he would listen and do as he's told, the fact is Lavar alway's wanted to do what's best for Lavar, and that's to run around the field doing whatever he feels like, while constantly being caught out of position, every coach he has had has said the same thing about him, can they all be wrong? I guess, but I doubt it.
As far a s pro-bowls are concerned, you can have them, I want wins, and championships, that's how I measure the greatness of a player, not a trip to Honolulu for a popularity contest.
PorterHouse 01-09-2006, 02:52 AM Your a waste of an opinion you make no sense.>>>>>>>" There is a big difference between hatin and telling it like it is, perhaps Lavar is part of the reason we had a different coordinator every year? "<<<<<<<<<<yeah that makes alot of sense we did have the best coaching staff every year too. i dont know why im wastin my time with this:bdh: :bdh: :bdh: :bdh:
#56fanatic 01-09-2006, 08:12 AM Note to Lavar: See what happens when you play within the scheme? He was in position and that's why he landed the INT right in his lap. If he'd been chasing someone else or trying to bullrush when he wasn't called upon to, he wouldn't have been able to make the play. Of course, Lavar proved that he wasn't the brightest bulb on the christmas tree when he jumped offsides on a 3rd and 5 to give TB a first down - keeping TB's drive alive and leading to three points.
All said, Lavar did end up having a good game, and he has been a positive locker room influence. Gotta be excited for the guy who's been waiting 6 years to get to the playoffs. I want to belive he wants to be here next year, but i don't see him willing to renegotiate his deal after the ugliness that transpired between him and the skins management.
So when somebody has a good game its within the scheme, a bad game and he didn't. so if everyone is in the right place at the right time, no body should even be able to gain a single yard. I am so sick of hearing people say about him out of position when everyone else seems to get free passes. Sean Taylor is out of position on a few plays everygame, Marshall too. Clark is cought off guard once or twice a game. This crap has got to stop. We won the game, he had a typical LaVar game. leave it at that.
dmek25 01-09-2006, 08:13 AM im a redskin fan thats estatic that we have 2 of the leagues premier linebackers playing for the skins.i hope we can have this debate after next week victory in which lavar and marcus both have 10 tackles and both have an interception.every team in the league would love to have this so called "problem" that we think we have here on this thread
#56fanatic 01-09-2006, 08:15 AM He did have that big INT, but he also had another silly offsides penalty on 3rd and 5 extending a drive for the Bucs. He's got to get more disciplined there
Are you people kidding me. 5 yards, 1 time. compared to 10 tackles, int , forced fumble. you people are nit picking big time. I think we as a team played a pretty good game defensively, and you want to pick out one offside penalty? give me a break
