caught my attention too & didn't look good on paper, but maybe he was saying it in a lighter manner than it appeared.
What worrys me is that he said at the end of last year that he was healthy enough to play & sounded unhappy that he'd been put on IR. I recall also reading that he felt he didn't get the ball thrown his way enough. We brought him on board cause he's a vet w/a winning history & still has some speed. we certainly don't need any problems cause it ain't like he's a feature reciever in this league.

11 or 12 players restructured for the good of the team. Then Patten adopts this me-first, F-the team attidue? As I was reading it my first thought was cut the bastard, but Coach Joe will do what is best...

I'm certain that the sole reason those 11 or 12 players restructured was not because it was good for the team. If it didnt work for them then they were not going to do it.

Of course like I mentioned in a previous post they will say all the good for the team bs because thats what fans want to hear and will keep them from getting ripped.

do you think any of the players actually volunteered to restructure?

but see thats nothing to get your panties in a bunch about. i mean it would have been a crapshoot if the skins were to leave him on the active roster "hoping" to make the playoffs

I didn't make too much of it. One thing I found kind of interesting was that Portis' contract apparently specifically stipulated that the Redskins reserved the right to restructure it. So even if Portis didn't want to restructure he really didn't have that much of a choice it seems, I wonder how many other players had similar contracts

regardless... he's making a point.

granted an unnecessary point that has no constructive value. none. unless redskins ask him to restructure now... hehehe
