That Guy 03-16-2006, 01:02 AM I wouldnt think that Randel el would be that bad at run blocking down the field, I mean he did come from a heavily run first offense...
just cause they ran a lot doesn't mean he's not 5'8" or 190lbs. he's not nearly as good as guys like KJ or ward or TO etc. There are corners with 20-25lbs on him. He's might be decent for a 5'8" tiny guy, but he's not a blocking WR.

Right, but like you said he is not the size of KJ, Ward, or TO... But hell even Santana Moss did a decent job this year blocking when he had to... I mean I dont expect him to pancake anyone, just occupy a defender just long enough to watch Portis run by thats all...
That Guy 03-16-2006, 02:45 AM i think moss is and definately coles are better blockers than El.
El is very willing to block, I don't know if lloyd is.
dcweldon 03-16-2006, 02:57 AM Portis can defintely reach that mark. It is completely realistic, even if you didn't have the new additions to this offense, you could make that argument. Portis ran for over 1,500 yards last season, and most of the plays that called for him last year did not include going out in the flat, he did on occasion, but if they had called it more early on in the year, good lord, who knows what his numbers would have been like. Being that it took the team about three or four weeks to finally get the offense clicking, just imagine what they would have done if they started the season with a bang.
People can go ahead an say all they want negatively about Randle El, but it doesn't matter, what the skins did with throwing Moss in the slot on more than one occasion last year, Randle El and Moss will be flip flopping that spot alot now, and that combo alone will be deadly. And if Lloyd can get into a rythm, add Cooley to the mix...oooo i get tingly thinking about it. If Mark is the starter, I expect him to improve his numbers from last season, which was one of his best seasons.
We do need to fix one problem, which I hope Al Saunders will address...running a three-wide shot gun on every third down. We did this ALOT on every third down play toward the end of the season, and eventually it caught up to us in the playoffs.
#56fanatic 03-16-2006, 08:23 AM Shut up, you don't know what you're talking about. And what does "I will be interesting" mean? Huh? Jerk.
OK, that was just a joke. I read a thread yesterday and everyone was bashing poor #56. I love you #56. I wasn't serious with my own bashing. Don't be sad.
dude, that was funny. First I was like who the hell is the F**K face!, then I laughed my ass off. "IT will be interesting"
i really honestly dont think we needed both of them, i think moss, lloyd, patten thrash, and jacobs would have been fine or moss, randle el, patten.... i really didnt think we were gnna bring in two high profile receivers. i mean one used to be the #1 guy so is gnna expect to get #1 looks frm the quarterback even if he knows hes #2 or 3. then we have randle el who tried at #2 but didnt do so hott. we shouldnt have signed both. we had a more than capable receiver with patten. but now that we have them im happy i jst wih they were SO high profile. but portis o ya this is gnna be the season where he REALLY proves with his YPC that the champ portis trade was in favor to washington. hell prove em wrong jst think of the big run he made his first carry as a skin, but every sunday!
It looks like we could be running alot of 3 WR sets with Saunders, so having good WR depth is pretty important.
Look at what happened last year, Patten went down and we were screwed at the #2 WR spot, and forget about the #3 WR that was just non-existent.
After last year I'm happy we went out and got 2 quality WRs rather than just putting all our eggs in one basket by picking up just one guy.
NAVYSKINSFAN 03-16-2006, 08:52 AM I get goosebumps thinking about this season. I was looking at some of the clips of the acrobatic catches that Lloyd makes paired with the speed of Moss...
signing free agents - money
signing high profile free agents - lots of money
superbowl - PRICELESS
PWNED 03-16-2006, 09:42 AM yes joel, as well you should. theres lots to look forward to next year.
