Pocket$ $traight 03-24-2006, 08:36 AM What are you talking about?
I am pointing out the holes in their logic. I think that Keyshawn is an overrated bum who is on the downside of his career. He is a locker room cancer who will not help any team that wants to contend. Apparently everyone else thinks that he would be a good addition to a team that was one step away from the Superbowl. Well I think that all of them are wrong.
Keyshawn is mediocre and his baggage makes him a net negative.
Can you follow that wilso? If you cannot follow the thread pipe down.
#56fanatic 03-24-2006, 09:08 AM I live in Charlotte, about 10 minutes away from Bank of America Stadium and you should hear the radio shows down here this morning. Keyshawn is great, Keyshawn is one of the best. I can't believe how excited these people are for getting a 34 year old possession receiver. Steve Smith was on the radio basically saying, I'll get mine, he'll have to settle for what ever is left. There will be problems with these two. Steve Smith is good as long as he gets the ball. He made a comment last year when they lost, well I caught my 10 for 120+ and 2TDs. So now when his 10 become 4 or 5, hes going to cry like a baby. Anyway, Keyshawn in my backyard, not good. I sometimes run into a player or two during the season, I hope its not this loser.
That Guy 03-24-2006, 09:32 AM Ummm. Has anyone forgotten how this guy acts on the sidelines? Why would you want that out of a good player let alone a mediocre one.
Hey That guy, remember, 34, downside of his career etc...
blah blah blah, he's filling an obvious need. You think carolina WR situation was good last year with steve smith and no one else?
unlike sam adams, they desperately need a WR, and he came pretty cheaply for his talent level. did you see carolina play last year with the one man receiving corp?
That Guy 03-24-2006, 09:32 AM So in other words he is an old Rod Gardner. Good to know.
do you actually watch football? rod gardner drops passes left and right, KJ doesn't.
That Guy 03-24-2006, 09:34 AM Great pickup? So you think the Redskins should have signed him since they run the ball a lot and he would have been much cheaper than Randle-El.
This is insane...
who else at KJ's talent level is still on the market? we got younger receivers already and no one here said he would have been a great pickup for us.
That Guy 03-24-2006, 09:35 AM Well if it is a "Great pickup" for a team that went further in the playoffs than the skins. How would it not be a "Great pickup" for the Skins?
Keyshawn is a bum plain and simple. He is a cancer in the locker room and he opens his mouth when he shouldn't. He was relevent in Tampa Bay.
maybe because different teams have different needs, and at the time KJ signed he was the best available WR left (and still filled a glaring need). I don't know what the problem is with seeing that.

A mediocre Keyshawn on the downside of his career with his baggage is still more talented than any of the sub-mediocre WR's that the panthers have...
After S.Smith, they might as well as bring in the local high school WR's and they would be just a productive as any of the other WR's on the panthers roster. Which one of the Panthers WR's do you expect to step up? Is it Colbert, Carter, Samp, Cherry, Hankton, or that savy 17 year vet Ricky Proehl...

maybe he's not the one that should pipe down.
KJ had 839 yards last year, he's NEVER had less in a full season. the panthers #2 had 440 yards with a better QB. that means this i an upgrade that should help the team. I know you don't like the baggage, but please list all the remaining WR FAs that'd give them 800+ yards this season (as cheaply).

Yes, but statistics are unreliable .... LOL :laughing2
PSUSkinsFan21 03-24-2006, 09:49 AM I absolutely hate Keyshawn, and if I was a Panthers fan I'd be pissed that my team picked him up because I'd rather lose without him than win with him.
That said, as a neutral observer and football fan, the move vastly improves their WR situation. I hate the guy, but given their terrible WR corp., they now have something they simply didn't before: a legit #2 WR.
