please name this younger receiver that'd be gauranteed to not suck next year and is still available.
Also keep in mind, he's getting 3.5mill a year, which is far less than the guys we got, and that Joe J wasn't considering carolina in any way.

Exactly they got him at a good price he has 2 good years at least left and he commands attention, he will take pressure off S. Smith a problem Carolina had last year and reflected against dallas and Seattle take away S.Smith and you take away their game.

Now with KJ they have a proven #2 receiver that demands atention also a wr thats willing to do the dirty work and cover downfield.

Great pic they just got better.

Solid pickup for Carolina, he will definitely give them the reliable #2 WR they were lacking.

As much as I love to hate on him, I have to admit he is a solid possession WR. If he wasn't such an ass I might actually like him.

Their O-Line was not that good last year, especially at run blocking, pretty decent at pass blocking. I have a philosophy where I dont like signing old guys. Some agree , some dont. I just think there may have been better options than Keyshawn. Carolina is one of those teams concidered to be high revenue, that because of teams like us supplying the income, but they still dont put the money out in the players. Actually, they put alot of money in players that they shouldn't (Dan Morgan-always injured , Deshaun Foster - cant stay healthy as a part time player) I am not a carolina fan. i do think he will help take some pressure of Steve, but w/ Colbert getting healthy and another year, I think he could have been just a good.

great, how about instead of thinking there are better players available you actually name them instead ;)

according to you, even great players, once past 30, shouldn't be signed by anyone and just retire?
they were close last year, and this stopgap player will help them stay close and work better in the short term than a draftee or underacheiving prospect currently on the team. if they were the 49ers it wouldn't make nearly as much sense.

Is Keyshawn great? didnt' think so. At the start of FA there were WR out there available. Randel El , David Givens , Robinson , to name a few. You can go back and look at the list of FA WR that were there. Obviously now there aren't any. My point to this was they knew they needed a WR when the season ended last year, and they waited to sign Keyshawn when if they acted earlier they could have signed someone else. Personally I dont think Keyshawn was worth it. You may disagree, thats fine. I dont say not to sign anyone past 30, I said Keyshawn - 34 down side of career, with baggage and attitude being a #2 option. He went crazy when wayne crebet was getting the ball in NY, crazy when McCardell was getting the ball in Tampa, and silent in Dallas when he was getting the ball. I doubt he stays quiet when he doesn't get the ball in Carolina. He may turn out to be a good pick up, it speculation at this point.

Ok let's get this straight. In my first post I said Keyswan was a jackass, but he will really help Carolina at the #2 spot. There were a bunch of other receivers out there that would have been younger and better, but the cheap ass owners for Carolina decided on Keyshawn. He is a solid upgrade IMO. All I know about Carolina fans is that many of them used to be Redskin fans.

I agree that he will be a upgrade at #2. I don't think him and steve smith will get along but we will have to see if they can maintain their composure on and off the field.

As far as many of their fans being ex-skin fans I don't think that is true. Cause if they are ex-fans they were never really fans at all!

Hmm, good point. Reminds me of those easily manipulated youngsters who join gangs just to be part of something. Redskins were closest, then they get another team and it makes them feel even more at home. I know that I for one, no matter where I live or if Lexington Freakin' Virginia were to get a pro team, I'd still be a Skins fan.

If they weren't Skins fans, then I wonder what kind of fans they were. Falcons?

I'm sorry many but he ddin't went crazy last year when Glenn was getting the ball more and ended with more yards than KJ and TDs. He has change a lot fro nhis days in NYJ and Tampa and als ohe know Carolina is his last team so he'll do everything to try to get another SB ring.

Also Smith was the player that recruited him.

i'd have to agree with the ones on hear that say keyshawn is a good pickup for the panthers.

keyshawn will, at least, demand attention from the opposing team. keyshawn will also run routs across the middle, allowing smith to have less coverage down field.

personally, i do not like keyshawn, nor do i think he is a great reciever but he is definately an obove avarage wr that will help a offense that was close to going to the superbowl.
