Could Donnie Edwards be a Skin???56FAN 04-13-2006, 08:17 AM stick where we are, edwards would be nice but would cost more than we should pay for him in money and draft pick.by the way sammy davis was traded to San Fran for a wr i've never heard of before Beemnseven 04-13-2006, 08:36 AM I guess we've all pretty much written off Robert McCune. While the draft is a crapshoot, is anybody else as irritated as me that a 4th round pick turns out to be consensus special teamer? MTK 04-13-2006, 09:06 AM Why is anyone giving up on McCune already?? Let's have a little patience and see how he develops, he was a bit of a project coming out of school anyway. PSUSkinsFan21 04-13-2006, 10:04 AM Why is anyone giving up on McCune already?? Dude, he's already had like 11 months......how much patience do you expect us to have?! TheMalcolmConnection 04-13-2006, 10:06 AM But he has huge muscles! That's enough to help me keep the faith. Beemnseven 04-13-2006, 10:45 AM Why is anyone giving up on McCune already?? Let's have a little patience and see how he develops, he was a bit of a project coming out of school anyway. I'm not saying I've given up on him. The impression I get from some is that he was never expected to be more than a special teamer. Maybe I got the wrong impression. But I seem to remember that kind of consensus about McCune when I made the statement that our linebacking corps might be just fine with maybe one addition of someone like Keith Adams. I just don't think it'll be the end of the world if we go into the season with Marcus Washington, Lemar Marshall, and either Holdman, Clemons, or Adams (if he signs) battling for the third spot -- along with the progress of McCune to one day join the starting lineup. Just trying to examine the possibility that we could go elsewhere with the 53rd pick in the draft. Then again, if there's an absolute steal at linebacker when we pick, I say go for it. PSUSkinsFan21 04-13-2006, 10:55 AM I'd actually agree with you Beemnseven that we could hold firm at LB on day one. Personally, I'm MUCH more concerned with the fact that we don't have a legit nickleback. I'm absolutely locked in on a CB in the second round......I don't want anything else. So you're not sold on Kenny Wright? I was with you on drafting a corner until he signed. If Antonio Cromartie of FSU somehow falls to us at #53, then we should swoop down on him like a turkey vulture on some fresh roadkill. No one seems to think that'll happen though. I think both the linebacker and cornerback positions are solid for now as long as there are no serious injuries we'll have to contend with. But if, Heaven forbid, someone like Springs or Marcus Washington go down to a serious injury -- then we're screwed. Ideally, I'd like to have one more young project waiting in the wings at both corner and LB should something like that happen. Problem is, you can't have both. I won't be disappointed with either a cornerback, defensive lineman, or even offensive guard taken with our pick. Less of a priority for me personally is linebacker. backrow 04-13-2006, 12:38 PM I'm new to here. Welcome JS80! I hope your posts are as funny as your namesake! Will you be doing your Schtick again during the C. Portis interviews this year? On D. Edwards: Maybe too expensive to trade for and pay! We have back-up LBs who fly to the ball! Of course, all Defensive players "play" for Coach Williams. |
