I guess we've all pretty much written off Robert McCune. While the draft is a crapshoot, is anybody else as irritated as me that a 4th round pick turns out to be consensus special teamer?

McCune was a 5th round pick

Why is anyone giving up on McCune already??

why not? did anyone really expect a 5th round pick to come in and start? he is 27 this year, its not like he has boatloads of potential.

So you're not sold on Kenny Wright? I was with you on drafting a corner until he signed. If Antonio Cromartie of FSU somehow falls to us at #53, then we should swoop down on him like a turkey vulture on some fresh roadkill. No one seems to think that'll happen though.

I think both the linebacker and cornerback positions are solid for now as long as there are no serious injuries we'll have to contend with. But if, Heaven forbid, someone like Springs or Marcus Washington go down to a serious injury -- then we're screwed. Ideally, I'd like to have one more young project waiting in the wings at both corner and LB should something like that happen. Problem is, you can't have both.

I won't be disappointed with either a cornerback, defensive lineman, or even offensive guard taken with our pick. Less of a priority for me personally is linebacker.

When did we sign Kenny Wright? If it was last week I was on vacation and there's zero chance of getting any football related news in the Caribbean. I'm still catching up I guess. If it was before last week, then I have no excuse for being behind.

Either way, I guess I feel better about our CB situation then, but I'd still like a solid CB at that stage. CB is a position of real injury concern, and if one of our guys goes down, my same concern with having a legit nickleback arises. O-line depth (especially with Dock in a contract year) and D-line depth is always good to have as well. With CB being less of a need, I'd be ok with any of those positions for depth.

i read earlier that SD is asking for a 2nd rounder straight up for edwards. i hope our front office looks past this. i'm all for youth and hopefully someone who can make an impact not someone who has a few good years left.

Actually I'd trade our 2nd rounder for Edwards in a heartbeat.......if not for the fact that I don't think we could afford to give him a long-term contract. Edwards is a known quantity and I don't see any reason to think he couldn't give us 3-4 very solid years. I know draft day would be dull, but the chances of getting a player better than Edwards at #53 are very slim.

Now that Adam is out of the picture we need to make a move in the draft to get D'Qwell Jackson, or wait and pick up a guy like Freddy Keiaho (San Diego State), Leon Williams of Miami, or a Bobby Carpenter of Ohio State
