Good:
Clyde's Restaurants in the D.C. area (and those owned by Clyde's group-Old Ebbit, 1789, Tombs...). They bend over backwards and give out all kinds of free stuff if anything goes wrong.
Apple does agreat job too. Fast return of product after repairs and good phone support.

Bad: Gateway. Man, they screwed me over a few times on the phone and losing my hard drive when they were repairing the power input. i worked corporate IT for a place with gateway, and they're really good when your a certified depot. Free replacement parts delievered in under 12 hours every time. the cutom online ordering site (written in VB, crappily) was total trash though.

too bad all your lost money is going to go straight to the lawyers :( they're the only winners in class action suits for trivial (sub million dollar per) claims.it says all i can recieve is long distance calling cards or credit to my current bill.since i wouldnt be caught dead with sprint service again it looks as if i will be making alot of long distance calls for free

Best - Hampton Inn hotels. 100% guarantee, if you have ANY problems, you get the night for free. They're not stingy with the comp nights either and will go out of their way to make you happy before you complain.

Worst - AOL. I wasn't even a customer and they were charging me for 4 months because my wife put a "free hours" cd in the computer for about 5 minutes just to check it out. She uninstalled it and never logged on again but they felt justified in taking 100 bucks from me and refusing to cancel the account I never signed up for. Keep those cds away from your computer! Also, their employees are all Indians who can't speak OR understand English. On my 4th call to cancel and get my money back, I just started out the call by DEMANDING an English-speaking supervisor who finally closed the account and refunded me. AOL is a tool of Satan.aol once changed my billing date without notifying me and i had it automatically drawn from my account. caused me to bounce my car payment, those bastards

I've had some battles with Nextel too. When I moved from MA to NY I tried over and over to get them to change my plan from MA to NY to no avail. I finally said look, cancel my service this is ridiculous I've been trying to change my plan for 6 months now. They tried to hit me with a $200 cancellation fee and I just about lost it. I think they sensed I wasn't very happy so they ended up waiving the fee.

thats not necessarily true about class action lawsuits. although mine was handled by the new york attorney generals office as part of an on going investigation. i did nothing but fill out a questionaire and got a check 6 weeks later for 2800.00

for what and how much did you lose because of how you were wronged?

BofA is awesome!

The worst is anycompany that outsourced their work to a foreign country. God damn 3com...

You praise BoA then they go and do an evil thing (http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/chronicle/archive/2006/06/09/BUGPJJA66348.DTL). I have nothing against Indians but I'll certainly be a grumpy customer if I get an India calling himself Johny on the phone.

This outsourcing will eventually catch up with us. BofA apparently saved $100 million by outsourcing, but I've got to believe that eventually all this outsourcing is going to severaly damage the economy.
