#56fanatic 08-30-2006, 11:51 AM These people look like total idiots if they cut Davis. Not only is he a quality, actually pretty damn good RB. He has proven in the last two years to be so. Plus, the idiots had the option of trading him during the draft and drafting Reggie Bush. Now how stupid would they look? No BUSH, NO Davis, now, a totally crappy running game. Houston would start to revolt.
724Skinsfan 08-30-2006, 11:55 AM I agree cutting Davis would be foolish but Reggie Bush wouldn't help the Texans stop the Colts offense and Houston can't keep up with them offensively even with two Reggie Bush's. Best tactic would be to bolster defense and pressure Manning. Mario Williams looked to be the best DE to do that.
dblanch66 08-30-2006, 12:00 PM Wow, man it sucks to be a Texan fan. First they don't take Bush, now they lose their best RB? Oh well, it wasn't like they were playoff contenders anyway. To the gutter Batman, to the gutter.
Betts is still worth something to us. If they want Betts now, I want a 2nd rounder and a 4th rounder at least.
It's almost as bad as being a Raiders fan. They passed on Leinart and now have ....gulp...Jeff George.
GhettoDogAllStars 08-30-2006, 12:29 PM my dad was telling me that when another, lesser known, RB was drafted the houston draft guys were disappointed. I think it was Jerious Norwood. apparently, they wanted to pass on Bush to get someone else, but they waited too long.
don't know how true this is, b/c my dad makes a lot of mistakes when it comes to the nfl (especially w/ names)

The debate will go on for years on who they should have drafted. I dont see how anyone could pass over a talent like Reggie Bush. I dont care what you need. As bad as they are, they are getting the 1st pick every round, and they could have traded Davis and gotten another 2nd rounder. For them to not pick Bush, now treaten to cut Davis, I have to wonder who is calling the shots for these fools.
That Guy 08-31-2006, 06:06 AM very few RBs should be drafted in the 1st round (portis, stephen davis, etc are available in the 2nd-4th), but guys like bush and tomlinson are unquestionable.
htownskinfan 09-04-2006, 08:05 AM i think theyre going to put davis on ir and i dont think smith will make the team, their other rb's have looked pretty good in preseason, but they would probably interested in aquiring betts if we were interested in trading him, plus they have first rights to anybody that is cut, they might pick up someone that way, maybe ron dayne
damn,I nailed this one!!
ESPN.com - NFL - Texans, Dayne agree to one-year deal (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2572250)
dmek25 09-04-2006, 09:56 AM ill pat you on the back, cause i know you cant reach it:)
EXoffender 09-04-2006, 01:16 PM Betts isn't worth as much as we like to think he is, I personally don't see him getting traded (either due to us keeping him or because no-one wants him)...
Betts is good. A team with three and a half starting caliber RBs doesn't have much leverage for trading one. Teams waited to see if we'd cut one saturday.

I really do hope we have "three and a half" starting caliber running backs...but I find that hard to beleive when we averaged what, 2 yd per carry in the preseason with them....
I think Duckett and Betts both have good potential...but I feel much better with being 2nd string. And hopefully they both do well in the role...and then we have more trade leverage
