Yes that was sarcasm.
Say good bye to your Heisman Mr. Bushonlydarksets 09-15-2006, 10:53 AM Yes that was sarcasm. firstdown 09-15-2006, 11:01 AM Im pretty sure that was sarcasm, dmek. They need to make it so NCAA atheletes can get paid, Either have the universities who make tons of cash off them give them a little bit, or let them accept marketing deals. Most kids that age can go out and get a job to afford things they want -- but not these football players. My step-sister was playing D1 soccer till she got rear ended in an automobile and her career was ended. Luckily her schoolarship opened up a bit more room for my dad to give her spending money, but for kids with parents that can't necessarily pay extra, it can be tough! They do get paid alot about 50,000 per year is about what it cost to send a child to an out of state college. In state runs around 18,000 in Va.. Look at the kids who work hard in school and receive nothing in the form of a scholarship for their hard work. Monkeydad 09-15-2006, 11:04 AM It'll hurt USC a LOT more than Reggie now. I doubt he'll care, especially after the selfishness he showed us by threatening to only give money to charity if he had the NFL jersey number rule changed JUST for him. BDBohnzie 09-15-2006, 11:07 AM yep, the sanctions that will be held against USC will hurt them a lot more than Reggie Bush losing his trophy... i read about the Clemson kid raising his little brother. i believe they are trying to grant him a temporary deal that he'll be able to get the help he needs for his little brother. onlydarksets 09-15-2006, 11:09 AM They do get paid alot about 50,000 per year is about what it cost to send a child to an out of state college. That's ludicrous - how much money do these other kids bring to the school? Football teams in the Big East get almost $40 million a year in revenue from the TV deal for airing their games. With even 75 players on a squad, that's about $4 million in scholarships at $50k/year. That's a lot of money that these kids are bringing to the school in exchange for the pittance they receive (and we haven't even touched on ticket sales or merchandising). skinsfanthru&thru 09-15-2006, 10:46 PM That's ludicrous - how much money do these other kids bring to the school? I think they should get some type of money, it's just a matter of coming up with an amount for the players to have money to buy what they need and not so much what they want. pg86 09-15-2006, 10:48 PM No amount of "gifts" recieved can enhance a players performance on the field (unless it's steroids). As far as this fan is concerned, the Heisman stays where it belongs....in the hands of the performer... Reggie Bush! We the fans don't decide who gets the almighty award, so it doesn't really matter if he has been honored. If there was to be any discussion about the "infraction", then it should have been brought forth at the time of the vote and not a year later! This so-called "agent" was bitter about Reggie leaving to enter the NFL and he was dumped! He lost out on millions of dollars! But we don't question his friggin integrity?! Money has no name this sounds like retaliation! Its not about even being a fan of USC or any other school Im a little upset that there giving this man all kinds of shit one year after the fact....Most of these athletes came from nothing anyway...so why not cut his family a piece of the pie....Tell me He didnt bring in huge ass revenue for that school anyway!? Anyway stop the Reggie bashing pg86 09-15-2006, 11:23 PM Well sound off people...aren't u a little upset that only reggie bush is getting his ass burned for this..most great D1 Athletes have accepted some type of "Gift"...MOST OF THEM COME FROM NOTHING!!!!!!! So whats wrong with them having a little something like most kids? Daseal 09-15-2006, 11:58 PM pg86 -- I think most of us don't care, but when the rules are the rules it sets a poor precident for the NCAA to look over it because it's the golden boy Bush. Don't get on USC hating, that team gets more props than it deserves. That said, Reggie Bush has had character issues brought up even before the draft. NFL radio today had heard that the Texans didn't like what they heard from Reggie in interviews and how he carried himself which is why they went with Mario. pg86 09-16-2006, 12:01 AM pg86 -- I think most of us don't care, but when the rules are the rules it sets a poor precident for the NCAA to look over it because it's the golden boy Bush.
