The thing that gets me is I am on the do not call list as well. I always get calls from charities and from companies that come up as "unknown caller".

How do they get around that list? Is there a way to report these places to make sure they dont call me? I am so fed up with these people. I work second shift so after my kid gets on the bus, I try to get a another hour of sleep before I have to start getting ready for work and atleast 2 days a week they call and wake me up with some stupid shit.

I love when they mess up my last name, Cannon. It's a fairly well known noun that most people have probably heard before, but for some reason it gets messed up a lot. "Hi, may I please speak to Mr. Can-non/Camen/Conner/etc?"

Idiots.

From donotcall.gov:

29. If I register my number on the National Do Not Call Registry, will it stop all telemarketing calls?

No. Placing your number on the National Do Not Call Registry will stop most telemarketing calls, but not all. Because of limitations in the jurisdiction of the FTC and FCC, calls from or on behalf of political organizations, charities, and telephone surveyors would still be permitted, as would calls from companies with which you have an existing business relationship, or those to whom you’ve provided express agreement in writing to receive their calls.

The ones that piss me off are the exisiting relationship ones. I get calls from my credit card companies all the time...

If I get a Unknown Name/Unknown Number on my CLID, I answer the call. If there is a noticeable delay after when I say "Hello" I immediately hang-up.

I'm signed up on the donotcall and that has helped a lot but a few sneak in on me.

I get calls from direct tv wanting me to subscribe to a movie package or move up to the next programming tier. That really pisses me off. I know what you offer. I see commercials for the shit all the time. I love directtv but I cant stand the way they call and try to sell you shit. I know what you have, if I wanted it I would call you.

We had a guy come to the door saying he was was from either Verizon or Comcast (my Mom couldn't tell which because the dogs were barking like the retards that they are) with a work order for an upgrade or some crap. He needed her to sign off before he did anything, but she was smart about it and told the guy to mail us some info before she would sign off on whatever he wanted to do. She obviously refused to sign the papers or let the guy come in because it was really shady.

It's better to wait till they say hello, and then immediately cut them off and say "I'm not interested, remove me from your list." By law, they are required to remove you.

My favorite are the ones where you say hello...and wait for them to respond, only to have their line move to another call and hang up on you.

I also hate the automated robocallers - where you get a recording calling you. Seriously, if you are going to interrupt me at home, at least do it with a real person.
