Surprise, surprise, Portis whining again.

He needs to STFU and do what he's told.
By the sounds of it Portis is not whining but rather trying to get players to "man" up to their thoughts. I mean if Portis wanted to "whine" then he would have done it anonymously like everyother player did. It is more admirable for Portis to man up to his own statements rather than cop out and do it under anonymity.

Maybe you need to STFU and do what you are told...

Yeah, because the coaches have demonstrated that their plan is effective and that everyone in the organization are on the same page. Portis is the problem here not the owner, front office and coaching staff. I bet he wasn't even hurt. He faked it so he could complain.

Was that really warranted simply because my opinion of Portis differs from yours?

Maybe or maybe not, but I believe that it is warranted because of the reasons stated by Grim21Reaper "Yeah, because the coaches have demonstrated that their plan is effective and that everyone in the organization are on the same page. Portis is the problem here not the owner, front office and coaching staff. I bet he wasn't even hurt. He faked it so he could complain."

Sure its easy to point and lay blame on the face of the team. But it is un-warranted when the face of the team is trying to get team cohesiveness. Hell Portis is doing more by putting his face and name with what he is saying than the others that want or need to remain "anonymous". I understand that sometimes people need to remain anonymous, but when players do it just to throw each other and coaches under the bus then that is nothing more than just plain old cowardness...

I love Taylor but I am f*cking tired of hearing how Ryan Clark not being there hurt his play. He is a physiacl beast, is getting paid millions, and can play football. Time to be a professional and nut up Sean. This crap about how he needs Clark is ridiculous. Play the f*cking game they way you can you whiney bitch.

What!?!? Doesn't it take two people to play one position? Ryan and Taylor were like Master Blaster from Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome. One can't function without the other.

Exaggeration, I know, but Sean is a man and needs to deal with the fact that there's not always gonna be someone to take care of you and make sure you're feeling okay.

Portis' comments are the type that gets a relationship back on track. I'm glad he said it and I hope players and coaches follow suit. Tell the people that you have a problem. Behind closed doors is usually the best way but if that's not an option then I guess use the media as a sounding board. As long as it's aim is to promote stability and put the foolishness behind you.

If the assistant coaches are too big for their britches or not not talking to each other then IMO there is only 1 person to blame, Joe Gibbs. He's the head coach and whether explicitly or implicitly has given them the go ahead to behave the way they do. I never imagined that Gibbs could screw this thing up as bad as he has. He may get it straightened out before his contract expires but its not gonna be easy.

I heard the conversation when I was driving home from work Yesterday, and it was definitely the best interview that Portis gaceThompson all season. Portis is on John Thompson's show every week, and he ALWAYS, I mean ALWAYS defended the coaches and the other players for the entire season. When Thompson would always ask him questions about other Redskins, he would always say something positive, and constantly defended Brunell and B. Lloyd. When asked about the coaching staff and play calls, he would normally say something to the effect of, "I'm just a player. It doesn't matter what I want, everyone in the world knows how I like to play." I think what he said is great and the timing of what he said is great because he caused no problems during the season, and now that it's over, it doesn't matter if he wants to ruffle some feathers because he's not distracting the team from trying to win games. I hope that all the players, coaching staff, front office, and even Snyder himself heard this. Because Clinton really told it how it is, and I think that players will respect this and rally around him.

Again, like Grim21Reaper has said the front office, coaching staff, and owner have nothing to do with what Portis was talking about, how dare someone hold the coaching staff, front office and owner accountable. If you read the article about "Core Redskins" sure sounds like everyone was on the same page when it came to evluating Brandon Lloyd.

Sure it is easy to say a player is whining when he is the only one to man up to what is on his mind. What Portis said means more to me as a fan than what an "anonymous" player/coach has to say...
