What has Lavar done while with the Giants which would want us to have him still in DC?

It's not about what he's done with the Giants, it's that maybe Lavar wasn't the bad guy in the Lindsey situation after all.

I was remembering one of the games where Lindsey berated LaVar on the sideline in front of everyone and then went after him again in the locker room after the game. Even some of the players felt that was totally unnessary and uncalled for. LaVar kept his mouth shut for the most part during that exchange, other than to say treat me like a man, a player not as a child.
Glad to see that LaVar wasn't the total reason for the blow up. We could have used his physical presense and play this year, had he been able to stay healthy.

I think the team needs more abrasive coaches that get in the players face and make them uncomfortable. This year from training camp on seemed to be about making the players comfortable (from the white unis, to not playing in preseason, to short camp) and the results were a disaster. Player discomfort is a good thing in pro sports.

I think there was plenty of blame to go around.

Based on what obeservations or facts?

Different players respond to different types of coaching. Having more in your face type of coaches is not going to translate to more success. Williams isn't exactly a guy that goes easy on his players and look where it got them this year. You still have to have the talent and in the end that talent has to do their jobs.

Based on the fact that players in their contract year always seem to play great. IMO they play extra hard because they know if they dont play great their contract may go down.

Of course the Redskins like to not bother with contract years and extend players that have had a few good games (Betts) thereby removing any discomfort and incentive for the player.

So what should they have done differently with Betts? Let him go?

But that's been the biggest problem with him the past few years really. Anyway, I don't want this to become another LaVar thread, so I'll drop the issue from my end.

That's because you're part of the great anti-LaVar conspiracy. Now that the truth has come out - you just want to shove it under the rug. Face it, you just can't acknowledge the truth in LaVar's statement that Joe Gibbs is the worst coach he ever played for.

Go drink your kool-aid you anti-LaVar, Dale Lindsey loving, blame it on injury person.

Admit it, you lay awake night thinking of ways to turn things into Anti-LaVar threads.
