Im a every other day shaver at most. When i was around 21 i thought i might be able to grow a mustache and gave it a shot for 2-3 weeks. I was waiting tables at the time and they forced me to shave it because of how horrible it looked.
Im real lucky in that a shaving cartridge for my Mach 3 will last me about 4-6 months. I bought a giliet fusion (Redskins edition) about 5 years ago when they first came out but i never used it because it was just way too much for my skin. My Mach 3 cartridge broke last week (thats how long they last me) so i thought id give the old Fusion a try again. So far i like it better then the Mach 3 but i havent really broken the cartridge in yet so time will tell.
Also i shave before showering and it seems like im in the vast minority when it comes to that. I never understood why someone would shave after showering since you would have to wash your face twice. Time is too essential in the morning to be dickin around washing your face twice.

The steam from the hot shower softens up your face and more importantly, the whiskers. Closer, better shave, less irritation.
I wash my face when I'm done shaving, after the shower. I don't use body wash on my face. :D
I've always shaved after showering too.
Is splashing some water on your face after a shave really that much of a hassle?

I shave before shower too, mainly because I've never thought twice about doing it during or after the shower. Maybe they're right, maybe it does "loosen up" your face or w/e but I've never tried, probably because I like watching myself in the mirror to make sure I'm not missing any places.

Dickin around, plain and simple.
@mredskins, I might try and start shaving in the shower, but the few times ive done it i just didnt like it; i need a mirror and im not trying to leave a razor or shaving cream or anything else in the shower.
Like mooby the thought of shaving post shower never even entered my mind until i noticed that most people seem to do it that way. When i started shaving it just felt more logical to shave pre-shower although i have a pretty light beard so maybe i dont need to loosen my whiskers up as much as others. Also i dont like foggy mirrors or taking the chance of breaking out in a slight sweat in a steamy bathroom after a shower, particularly during the summer.

I hear ya, that's why I shave at night. I roll outta bed in the morning and have just enough time for a shower, grab a cup of coffee, and I'm out the door.

If I shaved at night I'd have a beard by morning. I shave in the shower in the morning. Sometimes even sans mirror
