Anybody use a straight razor? I had that done once when I got a haircut in Florida and it was the best shave I've ever gotten.
I tried to get a shave once at a barbershop using a straight razor. The guy had to quit though because I was laughing so hard thinking about the Dumb & Dumber scene when Jim Carrey gets a shave and slaps a ketchup pack to his neck causing the barber to faint.
For some reason I get a bad allergic reaction to Aveeno products. What Vit. E gel do you use?
I think it's called Fruit of the Earth

I live in Florida, and at the local barber shop they shave the back of your neck with a straight razor. Never got them to shave my face though. I only trust myself.
I own a really nice straight razor that I bought from Solingen, Germany. It's sweet, but it takes me about an hour to shave, so I don't use it much.

Blade. Mach 3 turbo or whatever, but like Malcolm, I get razor burns here and there.
A good trick to avoid razor burns, and still get a close shave is to grab a rag and soak it in hot water then put it on your face for at least a minute. That will soften your skin and open up your pores. Trust me it works.
As for shaving cream, I use the Nivea for men products. They're the $hit.

Yeah I shave in the shower. Gotta have that hot water. I had been using the Fusion, which I thought was a godsend. But lately I've been using just the 2-blade disposable. I don't notice much, if any, drop off in quality and it saves me money.
I have found that the Rite Aid clip in double edge with that white strip work as good as any double edge I have used. They run about $6.99 for around 10 to 14 of them which last about a week. Its absurd how much razor blades cost and I agree with the shaving in the shower helps with razor burn.

I use their aftershave balm and typically it's great to keep razorburn away.
