skinsfanthru&thru 07-07-2004, 04:58 PM Kids make mistakes, its part of growing up. I think the university took the right step by suspending him indefinitely, hopefully he does have that heart to heart with Beamer and straighten up.
He's got a ton of talent, but he doesn't seem too bright. I see him sitting out the majority of the year, but he's got a lot to live up to. And now he's got to show that he's worth all the trouble he's caused, because I guarantee he'll suit up for at least one game this year and will probably start next year.
He is incredibly gifted, love the naysayers who want to judge him after a few games this season. Give him time.
with all of the hype about him and having seen some of his stuff in hs, its no wonder people r down on his performance cuz he showed pretty much zero last year except the bowl game and beamer switching him and randall out messed up the flow of the game which resulted in the 2 qbs often making the games closer than they should have been in their wins and not allowing the teams to get back into games that they lost.
Carnage 07-07-2004, 07:22 PM in techs bowl game this past season, he showed more recieving skills than any of throwing talent he showed while playing QB. Right now he obviously is thinking that normal rules don't apply to him because of his last name and he might be throwing his future down the drain right now. And Bryan Randall has played too well the past 2 years to have his starting job taken away by someone making these types of mistakes off the field.
This may be the best thing for his career as a QB. He is not going to unseat Randall, maybe he should play next year for a QB friendly I-AA team like Marshall or Texas Tech.
itvnetop 07-08-2004, 12:00 AM Making excuses for him isn't going to help him. He may not be Mike but he has talent and to see him waste it away a la Todd Marinovich (and countless others) would be a shame.
Speaking of Marinovich, I remember reading an article about him when i first moved to LA. He actually told the reporter that he needed to shoot up during arena league practice in order to perform... I have enough trouble calculating algorithmic functions under ganj-induced states- how the hell did this guy dodge rushing D-ends and connect with his flanker high on smack???
That Guy 07-08-2004, 01:33 AM marinovich was obviously watching too much Playmakers ;)
maybe you should tell him that that stuff isn't real...

He didn't. I'd take any member of the Warpath over Marinovich, any day. I wonder if that was Heath Shuler's problem in DC? He needed to be high on something.
diehardskin2982 07-08-2004, 07:32 PM i dont' think vick realized how old the girls were. as a star player on a big college team you can get mostly any girl u want and they'll likely do anything he wants ... so it was probraly just as much a shock to him she was 15, as was the publics
Big C 07-08-2004, 10:11 PM i think we are giving him the benefit of the doubt here. He messed up, many times now, and they arent small violations. I dont know many 15 year olds that look like they are of age, much less 3, which were at the apartment. This isnt the first time hes been busted for pot, cmon guys. Too many free passes. Hes a f*ck up.

I don't know where u r seeing girls then cuz there r a plethera of girls looking of legal age that aren't. plus it wouldn't be the first time in the world if the girls LIED about their age. he didn't rape them, we don't know the amount of pot in his possesion, and we don't know what warrented his driving to be classified as wreckless. Has he messed up? yes, but last time I checked he had earned his "passes" and hasn't had much if anything given to him for free. when else was he busted for pot, cuz I've honestly never heard anything about that?
Big C 07-09-2004, 01:08 PM he was suspended last season for a reason not released by the school, but it was thought to be pot related. The girls are testifying that he did rape them and make them strip, along with 2 other players (Imoh and Hill). Whether or not he actually did is unknown, but he put himself in a bad situation.

I hadn't heard about them saying they raped the girls and I would think that would be huge news in this area. maybe I'm just missing the wrong nights of the news but I would think my VA Tech alum friends would be cussing their heads off as well if they had heard that.
I'd heard that his suspension last year for one game was for a curfew violation or something of that nature.
