skinsfan69 02-07-2007, 03:50 PM DUDE??!!
I just went throught this entire room. How many times are you going to bring up Bob Sanders?? Enough already.
Sean Taylor is the man and I hope this is the first of 10+ years in the pro bowl.
Bob Sanders is good for his size but ST is the INTIMADATOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DUDE. Take a chill pill!
I'm just using him as an example. And he's good for his size? C'mon! If you weight 185lbs and you make plays, improve your defense and cause turnovers who gives a damn about your size?????????????????
I'm glad you like ST. Good for you. I like him too. But he needs to play better. A lot better. And if one more Redskin fan brings up Ryan Clark I'm gonnna puke. The intimidation factor only goes so far. That's all I'm sayin.
Sanders is listed at 206. He may be short but he's pretty well built for his size.

oh I get it now, you are related to bob sanders arent you?
CHIEF CHUCKING MY SPEAR 02-09-2007, 08:14 PM Boy the other safeties must really stink if taylor made it. I mean he has alot of talent but he was horrible this year. Really regressed from last year, the skins should have kept clark. They really worked well together in 2005. Yes Bob Sanders as of right now is a better player than Taylor. He makes his team better when he plays. We cant say that about Taylor after this season. I hope he can get his game back.
Skins_4_Lyfe 02-09-2007, 08:55 PM Enough is Enough...I'm tired of hearing about Taylor or anyone else on this team regressing. Did it ever occur to anyone that this coaching staff is holding back our playmakers (specifically on defense). It's hard to believe that anyone can have a decent career hear anymore, with all the BS thats been going on behind clossed doors.
Williams must go, and Saunders must go. I fully blame last year on the coaches, and I don't think the world of Gibbs for allowing this to happen. It’s ridiculous to have the safeties coach and the corners coach not speak to each other all season.
It would be interesting to see Taylor play while being coached in a real system (Lovie Smith) while not having to worry about a complex scheme that evidently doesn’t work anymore. I was never impressed by Williams' defense anyway, it was always vulnerable to big plays...his scheme reminds me of him; Arrogant. Players are so busy worried about "the scheme" that they've forgotten how to play football...i.e. Carlos Rogers. His defenses have always been around the leagues worst in the turnover category, even when he was with Buffalo.
It is clear that he holds back players, look at Walt Harris. Sean may have already been ruined and if he plans on having a career that’s half as good as his potential he should request a trade. I’m under the impression that Springs was the one who was quoted in the Tom Friend article and I agreed with everything that he was saying. He is smart enough to not take another season of this and I remember him joking at the end of last year as if it was his last on the team.
Every season we have one of the better teams in the league when it comes to talent, maybe what’s been holding this talent back is the coaching. It’s ridiculous when someone outside of the organization (Tiki Barber) is concerned about us not playing as a team, the coaches aren’t getting the players on the same page and I can see why after reading that article.
Expect another year of career lows for our playmakers unless Gibbs puts his foot down.

What other safety made 114 tackles (129 if you go by our stats)? The reasons, one - our front 7 was garbage so he had 160 opportunities two - he is the only safety who has the range to rack up that many tackles.
CHIEF CHUCKING MY SPEAR 02-09-2007, 11:59 PM listen if you think he had a good year be my guest. Come on take the blinders off he did not play up to he abilities. He got killed in coverage like roy williams does in dallas. Miss alot of tackles he normally would make. Not saying he not a good player, i am saying he sure as hell isnt a pro bowler. Lets just hope this was his bad year. I expected more from Taylor that what he produced this season. He has to be a impact player and this year he wasnt. Well his range sure didnt make any interception but one. His range didnt help when stallworth ran by him like he was asleep. His range sure didnt help him when Steven Jackson ran by him twice in the game in St louis. Im not saying he not good, he had a down year. Impact players change the game and make your team better like sanders does in Indy.

If I hear "Bob Sanders" one more time I am going to throw up. You know what Bob Sanders did? He was the starting safety on the worst run defense in the league. Yeah, he came back and they got hot (the linebacker change that they made helped too). Why did Indy win the big one, because the entire defense played better. Sanders will never have half the talent of Sean Taylor but Bob Sanders does have Dwight Freeney who is one of the best D-ends in football (remember what he did to Samuels)?
Roy Williams' season was worse than Taylor's so the fact that Taylor made it doesn't bother me one bit. Roy has made several on reputation, so I am supposed to be pissed that our guy made it? Yeah, that makes a ton of sense.
As far as Stallworth beating Taylor, big deal. If you give a QB all the time in the world he will beat every corner in the league let alone a safety. As far as Stephen Jackson goes. If your front seven lets a Pro-bowl runningback run into the secondary without even laying a finger on him, he is going to make a move on the safety and go by him.
People should be pissed at Lemar and Highway 57 (Holdman). Those are the guys who couldn't shed a block all year.

That's whack.
You did earn some respect back with the Highway 57 reference, that was great!

I didn't and wouldn't pin all of the Colts regular season woes on Sanders just like I wouldn't pin the Redskins struggles on Taylor. I also wouldn't give him all of the credit for the Colts getting hot when he came back. All of their defensive players played better. Sanders helped Indy, no doubt, but everyone is acting like put the team on his shoulders like Ray Lewis did. Bob Sanders didn't bring Indy back against the Pats.
