Schottenheimer fired from San Diegodmek25 02-13-2007, 03:28 PM im not sure marty is without blame. didnt he and snyder have just about the same tiff, which lead to his firing? 12thMan 02-13-2007, 03:35 PM I blame all of this on the owner. Spanos is soft. He should have sat both of them down and laid down the guidelines. You do this and you do that. This is your job and you don't interfere here and you don't interfere there. If you get out of line your fired. Simple as that. You just came off a 14-2 record with loads of talent. Can't we all just get along??? Spanos has done that with Marty and AJ from day one. They've had disagreements from day one, and Spanos stepped and mediated. I guess this was the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back. firstdown 02-13-2007, 04:26 PM Most teams have the coaches and start fresh by bringing in new players. Chargers have the players now they have to start over by bringing in new coaches. TenandSix:Unacceptable 02-13-2007, 08:42 PM At least Norv Turner is still available. Shrewd timing. That Guy 02-13-2007, 10:11 PM im not sure marty is without blame. didnt he and snyder have just about the same tiff, which lead to his firing? no. while here, schott was the GM, and danny fired him because he (LDS) wanted to make personnel moves, and schott could have cared less. brent 02-14-2007, 11:47 AM I bet Norv gets that job. Young QB for him to develop further, we know what he does with RBs, rest of the team in place. Knowing the "I left the Redskins" curse....Norv WINS Superbowl??? Not so unlikely...unless of course they have to beat the Skins to do it. They need one hell of a defensive coordinator or they'll be playing arena ball. That Guy 02-14-2007, 12:35 PM norv is a decent OC, but he's lacking in the leadership department, and that's probably why he's had bad experiences as a head coach. If the team is pretty well in place (like say, the pistons), he could do alright. Hog1 02-14-2007, 12:37 PM Due to the timing, and the.................unexpected Marty departure, Norv's relative worth went through the roof JGisLordOfTheRings 02-14-2007, 12:47 PM I bet Norv gets that job. The whole Norv thing is plausible but your last statement sums it up. HTTR! 70Chip 02-14-2007, 02:29 PM I think that if Norv Turner were calling the plays, the Chargers would routinely drop 40 points on people. It would be fun to watch. |
