Patrick Kerney?

There's another thread out there asking if the Skins should keep Wynn and Daniels next year. Here's an economic proposition:


Take the money that it will cost to keep Wynn and Daniels.

Subtract from that what it will cost to keep a rookie DL who is on the squad only to learn how to play the position.

Take the difference and see if that is enough to sign Patrick Kerney. If it is, do that in a heartbeat.


Kerney is better than either Daniels or Wynn at this point in their careers. My suspicion is it will take more than that to acquire his services...

Holy Christ Earthquake, you're on pace to set the record for starting more threads in one week than anyone in the history of thewarpath. I'm not trying to dampen your enthusiasm, but you might want to think if a topic deserves its own thread.

I think this one deserves a thread but you are right, Quake does start his fair share.

As far as Kerney, I find him interesting. I am guessing that he wants some serious cash.

I wonder how much Simeon Rice wants? He might be worth a short term (1-2 year) incentive laden contract.

Hah, I was waiting for something outta you. How is it going Grim?

If we are looking to get a guy cheap, Tampa Bay DE Dewayne White is a bulky DE in the mold of a Wynn, but he's 26 and would come on the cheap (allowing us to cut either Daniels or Wynn for cap relief).

The D Line is going to be a multi year rebuilding project. Kerney probably doesn't fit into those plans, even if he is more talented than Daniels.

As odd as it may sound, I think our core D players are not THAT bad. We need one more LB, a good DT, S and CB. Maybe Rocky can become that good LB leaving the DT for the draft and FA for either the S or CB. Just that would significantly help our D.

No insult intended but how the heck did Miami beat you guys? They say that any road game in the ACC is a battle. The ACC tournament is going to be sick this year. I may take some time off work for that.

It is terrible, inconsistency on the road has been the story all year long. I just hope we make the tourney. We can never get that 3rd guy to step it up on the road, even in easy games. Just pathetic. It also seems Singletary has lost his confidence as of late.

I am glad the game was not televised otherwise it would have been very painful to watch.
